| Bedtime drinking on 00:45 - Jan 20 with 422 views | E17hoop | I rarely drink now - dry January ran til March last year, restarted until August, restarted again until Christmas. A good red wine is always the preferred choice if I do have a drink usually Fleurie, an Argentine Malbec, Dolcetto or Pinot Noir. | |

That’s quite a range of wine !!! Ours is focused mostly on the local discount for the 6 boxes. 50% off is the target and then buy the food to match accordingly. Occasionally, more ends up in the food than drunk directly.
| Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

| Bedtime drinking on 09:18 - Jan 20 with 275 views | langtoft | 10pm port on a Sunday is very dangerous mate. As we've discussed previously a mid range malbec and gauchos medium/ rare ribeye is just about perfect - although maybe not at 10pm on a sunday! | | | |

| Bedtime drinking on 19:51 - Jan 19 by R_from_afar | I'm starting to get into red wine, I had a glass of Chilean Primitivo the other day and it was beautifully rich and smooth. I like Malbec too but Maury is also very palatable. A few years back, we went to a hotel which had an enormous range of liqueurs. I wanted to try something new and plumped for one made from pears, namely Poire William. It's a bit like pear -flavoured Calvados and I love it. A link to a random supplier is below. https://www.gerrys.uk.com/giff |
Arfer, your link to a "random supplier" takes you to one of the greatest booze emporiums known to man: Gerry's on Old Compton Street in Soho is a must visit if you're in town and are looking for something special in the drinks department. Most likeable and knowledgeable staff you'll ever meet. One of my very few regrets about leaving London is the occasional visit to Gerry's and a stroll around that wonderful part of town. However, here in windy Wales I have discovered Danzy Jones whisky liqueur. Very, very dangerous stuff. Once you start, it's very hard to stop. Absolutely delicious and a perfect after dinner digestif... or at any other time really.

Check-in? I suppose 'check-up' is too graphic a term?

All fruity reds, not overly tannin, each with something a bit different. 🙂

Another endorsement for Gerry’s from me too. Was a regular visitor during my 80’s flirtation with the wine/continental lager trade while based in Brighton. That front window display is a work of art in itself. Once had a bucket list dream of sampling every drink they had in stock. I was clearly quite delusional in those days.
| Bedtime drinking on 15:14 - Jan 20 with 114 views | MrSheen | On the subject of fruity reds, we had a big shop from the Wine Society and their Society Douro Red 2023 was a big favourite, deliciously fruity, £9.99 very well spent. | | | |
