In 2003 I was going out with a Polish girl who had already been in the UK for about 5 years. When we saw on the news Ministers saying "25,000 Poles a year will come to the UK" she laughed and said we'd be getting that per month. She was spot on and it took the government 10 years to admit they got it wrong.
Will they make the same mistake again?
Probably. After all, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting there to be a different outcome.
