Not sure what to say about today really, what is it that our players dont get, a few weeks back we played the ball forwards with speed, we closed down, we had movement!!!, a couple later and we seemed to have slipped back to Puel days, sideways backwards. We lack the ability to get round the back of them on both wings because Ward-prowse and Targett haven't got the pace. Stephens has gone backwards in my opinion a couple of seasons ago both he and Yoshida were brilliant when VVD got injured what has he been told?. Vestergard had a good game, Ings injured again!!!, I could write a thesis on Long but what is the point RH seems to think he is a worldbeater. Redmond was a pain but I still think he could do more for us. Our midfield coped ok but we miss Lamina. We were under a lot of pressure in the last 20 minutes with them just playing the Watford long ball into the box at every opportunity which we seemed to struggle with. Overall I will take a point but with Cardiff winning, next weeks game really is a must.

Would have taken a point beforehand as they're a tough spirited team. But to draw in the final min leaves a bitter taste. It now shows how important it was to get all 3 points from Palace. From being a few seconds from being well clear of the drop zone we could be back in it if Cardiff beat us next week. Yes it keeps our unbeaten run going but EVERY TIME we have a chance to pull clear and start looking up we choke.

Crouch clearly fouling Stephens by holding and pulling his shirt, (side-on photos prove this) the natural reaction is to raise your hand. Stephens being unjustly blamed.

Weird one. Many of us would've taken a draw before the game, but in context the result feels disappointing (again).

And agree with Ace about Crouch fouling Stephens. Refs are encouraged to give strikers benefit of the doubt, but it gets ridiculous sometimes!

Ings is injured again. I've said on here before that it's a gamble to rely on our current strikers. I don't have any problem with any of them individually, but Austin and Ings have major injury issues, Long (we know the specific problem there), and Obafemi is too inexperienced to depend on. Getting rid of Gabbi was fair enough, but failing to replace him may cost us.

It's ironic that Bertrand cannot get back on the bench even, because (rumour has it) he isn't fast enough for Hasenhüttl. With Targett and Ward Prowse hard pressed to out-run a tortoise and the latter clearly chickening out of two hard running tackles which he should have won, you'd have to conclude that there is a lot more in Bertie's absence than just running speed.

Meanwhile we have no option it seems other than to field the comedy trio of Stephens (Mr Mug), Ward Prowse (Mr Plod) & Targett (Mr Dim) despite it being glaringly obvious to a very large number of fans that at best these players would struggle to get into most Championship sides. Can we really believe the Herr Hasenhüttl really believes these players are our future.

in my opinion burnley just play championship football stop go /hit long balls forward work hard to win the second ball , stoping the flow of the game , chances corners /free kicks etc etc. all so if you look at the player who dived to win a penalty if you look closely at his left foot there seems to be a double movement or simulation thats why it was no penalty & quite rightley booked .
look forward to seeing what dermott says on sky tommorow morning

Short respons to Mr. SaintBrock: I agree with You apart from your view on JWP.
I think he is a "late blossomer" and will reach his peak under RH within the next season or so as a defensive midfielder and stand-in right back with his peak competances being running, blocking, passing, dead balls and assisting goals besides getting minimum 5 goals per season. Just my opinion. Please consider giving him your back up.

What is there to say? Don't win games without strikes. What a luxury to have players who can come off the bench and change the game. Embarrassing.
