Hill's reaction to the fans after our equaliser today is the final straw for me. Dunno if it's still at the point where I'll get slagged off for this but an own goal / straight from the corner / whatever it was does not justify 90 minutes of absolute sludge nor does it make me feel any better about the season ahead. We needed to win today to bring the fans back onside and I've always defended Hill because of what he's done for the club, don't get me wrong we have come a long, long way under his management but for me he can go after his reaction to the fans today.

Turning round and giving it both barrels to the crowd after we've scored because they had a go after sending Logan back into his goal is unacceptable, he had no other thought in his mind after that goal other than getting one over on those paying fans. The first time in my life that I've actually been angrier after we've scored a goal and if a manager can do that then it's not a good show. Looking very grim after that performance.

Don't know about that, if it's true then we've got real problems. Maybe securing the Stadium makes them think they can treat supporters like that, what happens when they say it to the wrong person though because none of them are in the first flushes of youth. I find it hard to believe the Directors resorted to that sort of behaviour personally but one of them is the guy who stopped the Trust from hosting the Race Night at the Club wasn't that Rawlinson? I hear that he holds the fans in very high regard (not) but I have never had the pleasure of his company yet, heard plenty about him though.

Do you remember that Ashes test series down in Australia when England got absolutely marmarlised? The one that everybody just extinguished from their memory as though it didn't even take place? You probably don't because you don't know one end of a cricket bat from the other, but I digress....that's what we need to do with yesterday's events, just pretend it never happened because nobody covered themselves in any sort of glory apart from those like myself who spent the afternoon being polite to all and sundry😄

First Time Poster - unable to remain silent any longer over the scenes I witnessed yesterday but deliberately waited 24 hours to calm down before registering and composing this post! Apologies in advance for the length of the post

Throughout the game yesterday there were a few grumblings of discontent from supporters sat behind the dugout but nothing that could be termed (as described elsewhere in this thread) as constant abuse towards Keith Hill. Personally I don't see the benefit in publicly slating players as I cannot see how that would motivate them to improve but everybody is entitled to an opinion and we don't/won't all agree! It's called free speech and is to be respected and cherished. On the subject of which - why do people feel the need to resort to calling people Mongs or other such charming terms of abuse just because they disagree - GROW UP!

Things came to a head, however, when Conrad started to venture upfield for the corner but was directed back to his own area by Keith. A few (no more than about half a dozen) fans started booing and showing their dissatisfaction at what they obviously perceived as a lack of ambition in trying to rescue point that we desperately needed.

Upon hearing these murmurs of discontent Keith turned round and told the dissenters to 'Shut the f%*k up'! Not sure why he felt the need to do so - surely best to just ignore them? Again - opinions - just disregard those you disagree with? It turns out Keith's was the correct one and that is why he is a football manager (and undoubtedly the most successful manager that this football club has ever had and probably ever will have?) and we snatched a lucky equaliser.

At this point Keith could have simply turned round to those supporters and given them a 'See - I know what I'm doing' look, a shrug of the shoulders or a knowing smile. Instead he chose to turn to the main stand and make an abusive gesture whilst screaming 'F%*k off' at those supporters! Sadly the abuse not only reached the eyes and ears of the people who it was aimed at but also probably another 100 or more supporters sat around them (Of which I was one!) I found this incredibly offensive and extremely unprofessional and turned to the directors to question whether they deemed it acceptable behaviour. This is when things started to become even more sinister!!!

(Before I go on to describe the subsequent events I should like to state that had this been the end of the matter and especially in light of Keith's honest heartfelt apology I would have been quite content to let the matter lie and accept that his actions were merely a result of his passion, a heat of the moment letting off of steam thing and I probably would not have felt the need to write this post!)

I turned to the directors (I admit I was shouting as I was incensed at what I had just witnessed and heard and had to shout to make myself heard above the general crowd noise!) and asked if they thought that that kind of behaviour was likely to help increase dwindling crowds at Rochdale?

Not sure what I expected their response to be but I certainly did not expect to be told to calm down and F%*k Off whilst the offending director gave me a smug grin and made the universal wa%ker gesture towards me! As you can imagine this incensed me even more so I demanded to know who he was and why he felt he could treat a paying customer with such contempt. Then the stewards moved in and I was escorted/manhandled out of the ground. When I asked why I was being made to leave when I wished to raise a complaint about the conduct of one of our directors I was told it was 'because of my attitude!!!!' So there you have it - a manager can tell you F%*k Off, a director can smirk at you, call you a wa%ker and tell you to F%*k Off but don't dare question it or you'll get ejected for your 'attitude'!! What a wonderful example of a human being that person is - if you are reading this I hope you are proud of yourself!!!?

Sad to say I don't wish to stop going to watch my team but I really don't see how I can ever go back after such outrageous treatment and I am reluctant to pay even 1 penny into the coffers of an organisation that has at its helm somebody who can respond like that!

Anybody who wishes to call me a whinging moaning ar$&hole or any other similar insults - do your worst because you cannot make me feel any more humiliated than I did at 4.55pm yesterday.

Finally - just in case anyone thinks I am a young idiotic troublemaker - I am a 50 year old civil servant who is used to dealing with difficult people/situations on a daily basis and would never ever dream of speaking to one of my customers in that manner no matter how much provocation I had been subjected to!

Keith Hill's conduct I can forgive in the light of his subsequent apology - that director (whoever you are?) - I hope you are squirming as you read this!

Poll: Would you prefer relegation to happen…

Could you do us the honour of giving us a description of this individual because all the Directors are pretty distinctive. It sounds to me like the Clubs rotten to the core, I hope the Chairman intends to take this matter further, maybe contact the Supporters Trust and see if they can represent you in this matter. We have had a Director threaten to take a supporter out on to the car park so this isn't a isolated incident. I don't think the Director will be squirming though, he will probably be pretty proud of himself I would imagine.

I really hope the new Chief Exec is reading this forum because this is the type of thing that he's up against, the fans are being treated like absolute mugs and it's about time the Chairman spoke up and started sorting things out.

Well there's a surprise his reputation and disdain for the paying public goes before him. I'll be in the Dale Bar before the next home game and would really love it if he came in for a one on one with me, I can't be doing with the bloke and I'm not the only one neither. You can't buy class. In fact this sort of thing just wants to make you pack the whole thing in, do I want to give my money to somebody like him??

Ironic, given his business success is based on the paying public, too. Poor.

A different post to some of those you submitted when we re-appointed him. The one where you pointed out how he took on the Barnsley supporters and they turned against him.I think you described the atmosphere at Oakwell as toxic at the time, a fight he could never win. The posts that highlighted him re- signing his old players ( mates) who obviously weren't good enough, Deja Vu? Yesterday's antics involving Hill and the Supporters, Deja Vu?

Great that you're doing well, just think it was only last year when you submitted your blog speaking of throwing in the towel and withdrawing your support. It's not just the recruiting of non league standard footballers ( His budget is the same or even slightly bigger than last season ) it's also the fact our season ticket base which was small anyway as been reduced even further because the hierarchy decide to tell the fans what they are going to pay rather than sitting down and communicating with the dwindling fanbase. They insulted the supporters intelligence and tried to sugar coat the actual prices as a great deal, forgetting that we have fans who specialise in mathematics, you can't fool the fans whitey.

A few months ago the Club finished the season on a high, fast forward and any feel good factor as evaporated and it's because of decisions made off the pitch. We have some good footballers at this Club and they deserve to be supported with a better standard of player than what we are witnessing otherwise positive results become more difficult and the strain on the better players increases. This is what we are witnessing at the moment. Piss poor recruitment and yes I blame it on the manager who I would describe more as a fire starter than a fire fighter. Seeing those sub standard players pulling on a Dale shirt again lit a fire inside me that I don't think will ever go out!!

Enjoy your Sunday.

To be fair, it's been four years. I've been through a lot since then, as I'm sure we all have. But I can promise you there was no bigger Keith supporter at Oakwell than me. I defended him stoically on our own forum, especially early on when he came in swaggering, trying to educate our supporters.

I've been through all that a hundred times before so I won't bother tonight.

You will never succeed as a manager at Barnsley or elsewhere I imagine with the attitude Keith had then. You'd have to win a lot of games, and once he stopped winning games the supporters found it impossible to put up with. I personally lost faith because he did what he said he never would. He ended the long term plan and went for a quick fix approach. He loaded the gun that eventually fired him. For me at least.

Watching us dominate every game but done by a set piece or six, listening to him blame everyone but himself, it was toxic, yes. He had to go.

I'm not a Daley. I do see you as my second club though. When I got out of Oakwell last night and found the pub with my mate, first thing I did was ask for the Dale result. But because I'm not a Daley, I probably ought to stop giving an opinion, in fairness.

I just feel uneasy when I read so much anti-Keith stuff. From Dale fans. It doesn't sit right. But aye, you lot know a lot more than I do.

Maybe he has run his course at Spotland? But I'd fear for the club if he left. And be fair, this summer I stated on here that you'd struggle this year to match what you'd done recently. I got pelters for having that opinion. But I sensed a struggle of some kind. Not everything seems right at Dale, I don't know why or what it is. But I think being together and united will go a long way.

Look at us last season. Anything is possible. And if you can recall my end of the ropes podcasts during our horrific run last year, imagine me now being employed by the club...

Funny old world. Funny old game. Keep your peckers up.

This post needs investigating by the Club right up to Chairman level and the poster needs to be contacted. I would imagine Mr Dunphy would have witnessed the incident.

Fully expecting the Chairman to address the current situation that has led to some supporters feeling so distant from their club. Don't think for one moment it's all about yesterday either. There's either a Team Rochdale at all times or we start to look for some other 'cool' hashtag.

It can't carry on like this.

I would imagine that there will be some sort of statement on the web site on Tuesday, and I think at the very least, we should wait and see what it says before we cast any judgement over how the Chairman handles this. My guess is that they will diplomatically sweep it under the carpet and nobody will face any repercussions. If that's how they choose to play it, there's not a lot we as fans can do, but it will make it harder for them to restore the faith in the fans if they don't do something positive.

I don't think Hills time is up just yet anyway Whitey, it wouldn't surprise me if he produced a few rabbits from the hat over the next few days and all of a sudden things click into place. I'm well pissed off about some of the players he's just recruited and have tried to second guess his mindset but apart from that if he's happy, I'm happy (Hendo).

Our current league position doesn't really bother me because we have the players and the manager in place to rectify that. To be honest it's the off field situation that has got my back up and it's been like that for a while. Hills high maintenance, we all know that but he is accepting of his faults and his apology yesterday knocked the altercation with the fans on the head. Like you said, it runs more deeply than what's happening out on the pitch.

Life after Hill could very well be a struggle but I can live with that if everybody within the Club is united and pulling in the same direction. We are due a bit of struggle anyway, we've had it far too easy for the last decade😄

Some good valid points, but I don't know why so many people think we would struggle if Hill went. He is not indispensable. Last time he went, we chose managers who were either the cheap option or inexperienced and I think we were then too quick to sack those managers. There are a lot of good young managers out there who are just as capable as Hill. What the directors need to do is try and get this club good enough to entice them should Hill decide to move on.

I don't accept that we will struggle and have never bought into that theory. A lot of it is down to luck, we could appoint the next manager and bingo, we could hit the ground running. There was no skill involved in appointing Hill for his first stint in management, it just worked out right. Obviously we could appoint a dud also.

We ballsed up with the Eyre appointment though and you can't blame him for flowering up his CV, we fell for it hook, line and sinker.

I am extremely relieved that this disgraceful scene has been backed up by at least one other person (Ninco) as I came away from the game yesterday feeling incredibly deflated and started to doubt whether my recollection of events had been clouded by anger and indignation. Just re-read the thread and seen that another couple of people (roccydaleian and The DJ (possibly in another thread?)) also witnessed it and can counter the accusations that 'I/we were behaving disgracefully to the directors' (SuddenLad) - I was not - I was questioning their approach to growing the fanbase and whether they believed that kind of incident would bring fans flocking in to pay £22 to be told to F%*k Off?

Furthermore, in being manhandled (it would probably constitute an unwarranted assault in legal terms!) out of the ground by more than one steward I actually felt as if I had committed some heinous crime rather than merely attempting to put some perfectly justifiable questions to the directors. Upon reading the posts in the thread I found myself becoming more and more reluctant to actually get involved because of how the incident was perceived by others who either were not there or were simply generalising and treating us all as moaners and whingers (Brierls) and getting 'our just desserts'! At no point did I direct any criticism or abuse at Keith Hill so how is it just that I am on the receiving end of his tirade? That was what I was trying to get across to the directors before they had me shunted out of the ground.

The whole event has left me feeling disgusted and belittled and it seriously does make me question the sanity of paying for the privilege even though we have had more fantastic highs under Hills's 10 year tenure than in the other 100! The reaction of that one director made me sick! Interesting that he appears to have 'previous'?

One thing is for sure - in the light of the whole season ticket fiasco and other recent PR own goals it does finally confirm how we minions are viewed by those in their ivory towers! If ever there was any doubt - let it cease now - they hold us in the utmost contempt!!!

If Mr Dunphy or any other club representative, except that odious cretin who showed such contempt towards me (as I don't think I could look him in the face and not vomit all over him with nausea) wishes to contact me on this matter I would be perfectly happy to do so.

Over 35 years of attending football matches and yesterday was the most sick to the pit of my stomach feeling that I have ever endured at a match!

Team Rochdale? Hmmm? Not feeling it right now!!!

I understand how you feel, as many years ago, I went through a similar situation when I travelled to Crewe Alexandra to watch Dale and I openly heard the then manager Dave Sutton turn to his assistant Mick Docherty as they walked past me in the car park mocking my disability and laughing. I felt just like you do, and was angry, but I wasn't going to let it spoil watching the team I love, and I rose above it and just got on with watching the game. Years later, I am still watching the team I love and Sutton is shovelling manure round in wheelbarrows. I think I got the better deal there. Don't let them get you down. These directors will soon be history just as all the ones we have had in the past are.

With us being bottom of the league, I don't think a one month suspension would be a good idea.

A one month suspension for who? That charming director or me because of 'my attitude' as I was told by the stewards? As it happens we do not have a home game for 3 weeks now (I refuse to recognise that ridiculous tinpot trophy game against 'Sunderland') so any suspension would be almost up by then anyway! I might have calmed down by then but cannot be sure!

I think the poster was referring to Hill.

As I am sure that the fourth official will have heard him, there could even be some action taken against the club.

Agree, If action taken to the club then action should be taken to hill, hes not untouchable and probably needs to time off imo

(not you, the director and stewards both out of order )

I didn't witness the incident, but was told about it pretty much after the final whistle.

My apologies - I just assumed that you had witnessed it and as I was looking for people to 'back me up' I referred to you in that post! Do you want me to edit it? If so - I am happy to do so but as a new poster on here I may need guidance.
