Swans now ready to move on an alternative to Darling 12:32 - Jun 2 with 9800 views | KeithHaynes | As mentioned on another thread Sheehan wants players in before they return in a month. However, the P&S financial year to keep it simple won’t start until July 1st. Three targets lined up. Can’t find anything on the Lincoln City link. Dilemma for sure.

If he he’s made his mind up but not told the club he’s staying, that means he’s leaving, Shirley ?

you would think so and given the title of this thread the club must believe he is not taking up their offer as they are now seeking an alternative to Darling

Is there any benefit for him to let the contract expire then sign a new one? would he get a signing on fee due to being a free agent? 🤷♂️

He's been given a lot of rope by the club allowing him as much time as possible. But if indeed he has made his decision then he should say now so we can get on planning.
Swans now ready to move on an alternative to Darling on 20:58 - Jun 2 with 5210 views | heatwave | I just can't imagine the situation that he let it be known he's made his mind up but is not prepared to let his bosses know his decision. That surely couldn't be acceptable to the owners.

He would get a signing on fee regardless.

I would say from a conversation recently that there won’t be three coming in all together. Just that there are three. I’m unsure today how much progress has been made but we were going for another CB in any event. Possibly two. I’m still unsure if the club are keen to sign anyone this week, it’s more likely it will be a contract starting on July 1st. Whatever the situation is with HD I still think his lack of decision making has had an effect on transfers so far.

Whatever happens with Darling I can't see us spending money before our new financial year. As you say a deal may be done, but money will not change hands. Get Yates out and we may have a little leeway, but many of the players are not even in the country at the moment. It must be very frustrating for Sheehan. Nothing is ever done until it is signed and sealed.

I would imagine Darling has Russy on speed dial atm and wouldn’t be surprised if it’s been the case over the last month.

Im with you there but many would disagree...Darĺings ditherings could put a spoke in our recruitment plans. Though Keith has posted we seem to be moving on a replacement for him

Coleman should have played hardball Summer 2024. He would then have had something to worry about ( like his career development). He has being playing ducks and drakes ever since. He even told the press there were "no offers on the table". This was out of the Aaron Ramsey play book while at Arsenal. It is BS to get the fans off his back..

September 2024, no hardball because no offer was made last summer. Coleman was asleep at the wheel. "Williams said there had been informal discussions between Darling and the Championship club but no firm offer had been made." https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/crejzr37w3eo

You miss the point and fall for the spin every time. Darling says there are no offers on the table to fool posters like yourself a who are all too eager to turn fire onto the owners. Ramsey did this. There was no point putting a written contract down until there is an agreement in principle. Darling accepted no verbal offers for months. How many we do not know. He was wasting every yones time. Better to make a n offer and say it is the last one and if not signed look for another club. It's called leverage. Swansea have been dancing to his agents whims ever since and wasting their time. The facts are in the article as stated by Williams. No contact offer had been made. Coleman was trying to reduce the wage bill to make the club attractive for a pending sale not increase the wage bill. No posters were fooled, the facts have been revealed many times in print including by Keith on here. You crack on with your agenda, everyone can see right through it. Coleman made a pigs ear of his Chairmanship and the new owners bombed him out as soon as practical. Leaving in the summer, the "chairman" hasn't been seen of heard for months. Face facts Levien, Kaplan and Coleman, your heroes buggered up my club and we are starting a slow recovery.

AI generated. "Luke Williams, the head coach of Swansea City, has confirmed that he has had conversations with Harry Darling about a new contract, but the club has not yet made a final offer. Darling is out of contract at the end of the season, and Swansea are trying to persuade him to sign a new deal". This was in the Summer of 2024. All in vain. The guy was playing duck and drakes.. "I love it in Swansea" yeah right.

The club should have offered him a contract last summer. If he refused they should have cashed in on him. Now he walks away for nothing. The club are to blame for poorly handling the situation.
