Following on from the Lebanon thread, we carry on our musical journey of the World.
I know very little from this part of the world, so looking forward to it.
I'm cheating from the off here!

Seen Omar S. countless times I saw an early gig in a church in Brighton around 20 years ago - maybe his first in the UK. Fantastic to see his audience grow from general world music lovers to incorporate ravers when word got round the sound was ‘banging and trancey’ He’s now a regular at festivals.

Twenty five vocalists from the MENA region. Charity single raising money for Palestine, translates as "we will return". It's been likened to an Arab "We Are The World"

Lovely stuff from an absolute belter of an album 👏. Rock, dub, electronic, ethnic, ambient, all wonderfully blended together.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

In an interview Jah Wobble talked about his admiration for Umm Kulthum:

When I was 13, I heard Egyptian singer Umm Kulthum on shortwave radio. It sounded like it was coming from another universe.
