Comfortable performance against very poor side.

When I saw the line up I did have concerns about where are the goals coming from, but they came 4 times and we took our chances when they appeared.

The side looks good at the moment and play some great stuff at times.

Gutted we didn’t keep a clean sheet, but if that is all I am disappointed with tonight, then let it be.

Adamson is getting better every week and when you look around the youngster that have come through do not look out of place at this level.

Madsen seems to have an extra yard if pace about him too.

Hard to choose a MOM as it could have been one of many, but yet again Ronnie was excellent.

Come on your R’s

I was disappointed that we conceded that last minute goal.
But, the good news is that the defenders were, too. At a time when it 'didn't matter', it did to them - a very good sign.

A word of praise for Stephan and his coaches. The organisation and tactics this season are on a different level. We are controlling large periods of games now not only because we have some better players but also because the team is really well drilled. And, I suspect Bould's changed role has contributed to how well our defence is playing too.

I'm a little concerned that Kamara collected his 4th yellow last night, so that's him and JCS one card away from a suspension. Not a disaster if either miss a game but they're both very influential players.

Yeah long spells were great to watch and - get this - Rangers were enjoying a lot more possession than Derby for the first 80 minutes AND were controlling the game. Witchcraft.

Funny how quickly we adjust as fans.... QPR often struggle in these types of match against 'poor' sides and yet here we cruised against them and I am all for that... I think we were great and we were the reason they were poor so this is great

Never look down your nose at Rangers winning 4-1.

We played better against Cardiff/Bolton/PNE (despite 10 men), but we had more of our first choice team on the pitch in those games. Really impressed by the fringe players. Adamson had played himself into first choice RB and now is the only choice RB. That ‘fittest player in the squad’ tag is going to be test until next break…

And Derby are really really bad. Hard to see them Watford and PNE staying up at this stage, could easily get cut adrift over next few weeks

Got back midnight last night- bloody M1 closures always taints a midweek win

Thought Lloyd and kolli played great as a pair last night - at times running derby ragged and was so pleased for Lloyd to get his goal.

Shout out to smyth who has put himself as our most valuable wide player - never lets us down and is now our leading scorer this season with 3.

The back 4 look really strong together as a unit and Charles it’s just different gravy (who the hell did we get him!)

Was gutted poku didn’t finish his chance as the pass and first touch deserved a goal

This all said Derby were awful - as bad a team as I’ve seen at QPR, which brings me on to my last point…. Injuries

According to some of the fan sites Derby were missing 7 players last night - with mbengue out now (for a prolonged period I assume) I think we have 7 lamptey mbengue Burrell saito chair dembele obikwu

Look wider and the whole league is struggling …. 2x 3 game windows straddling a 4 match international window

The league and the schedule are putting players at serious risk - really hope that mbengue isn’t as serious as it looked

Completely agree, dmm. I thought our shape was very good when we had the ball, with the full-backs pushed up as wingers, the three attackers all central and Kamara, Madsen and Vale central giving the centre-backs plenty of protection when we lost the ball.

Up until the subs, it worked a treat. After that, we lost our way, I thought. The subs looked uncertain about their positioning, we looked less fluid in possession, and we certainly didn't protect our centre-backs as well.

But that first hour was very promising.

Funny you say that, we were saying he’ll have to make substitutions around the hour as per the norm in modern day football, but was thinking it’s a shame we need to because the starting eleven performed as a complete unit, much like at West Ham.

It’s good to see, used to be like that in the 70’s side, total trust in what was going on out there.

These days unfortunately, it’s not about having one John Delve on the bench, you need to have five of the buggers!

A comfortable win but not as convincing as the score suggests. We scored 4, but I thought they were a mixed bunch of goals. Great to see Alfie score, but I thought the keeper might have done better. Second goal a softish penalty and I'd like to see Nico give pens a bit of welly. Third well struck by Harvey, but fortunate to find a line through a tangle of defender's legs. Forth a big deflection. Our xG for what it's worth was only 1.52. But maybe this makes up for all those shots that didn't trouble the keeper in previous matches. But I don't want to complain about a good win.

Derby were poor, but I was impressed with their spirit. Heads didn't go down and they managed 15 shots, Pierce having to make 5 mostly easy saves.

And a shame that the pass of the evening from Edwards on the half way line threaded through the whole Derby team was put just wide by Poku after his excellent angled run.

Edwards MotM. This could get predictable. Kamara and Smyth also excellent.

Yes the key thing is that we seem to have a pattern of play properly instilled through the squad - so that even with squad rotation everyone knows their role and can execute well for the most part.

Long may it continue.

Yeah.

We certainly p*ssed them off. Some very full blooded challenges flying in in the second half. Kemper for one was incensed at one point where he was pretty much assaulted with no attempt to play the ball and they were late on Smyth several times, seemingly for the fun of it. Nasty team.

I am absolutely in love with Kemper. One point after he got up from that head injury, he spent the whole 2 minutes while he was on the sideline getting stuck into the lino for god knows what. Also cleared one ball, absolutely clattering through their RW in the follow-through. Proper unit of a LB.

He's been brilliant since he came back in - great to see. He is definitely up for it!

It was a strange game, stadium felt half empty at KO, but full by the time Lloyd scored. Really pleased for LLoyd, another really hard worked when he plays, who has improved his game a lot.

I liked how we were very calm on the ball, we are so confident in possession now, and with Charles able to set-up attacks if they press it's great. I did feel we got a little too complacent towards the end of the first half and at times in the second half, but the game was pretty much finished by then,

Derby were dreadful, so much space to play through them, but you still have to do it, and we did it really well at times. That pass from Edwards to Poku was so good, I wish he'd scored it, Edwards looked devastated when he missed it. Would have been a good boost for Poku as well. That said, great, run, great pass.

If we are winning 4-1 and there is room for improvement, I'll take it.

My first thought last night was Why are we playing Lloyd wide? It didn't look good in pre season & he seemed lost in the opening ten minutes. Then he clicked & that was Alfie's best performance for us. I'm so pleased that he got a goal. And not any old goal either, but the most important one.

A confident, comfortable win rather than an outstanding performance from us in my opinion & that we played better in the 0-0 against Bolton.

The main question from last night is who will be our back up right back? Can Kemper or Cirkin play on the right if needed? Can Morrison, Varane or Alemayohu (or anyone else) fill in? Or do we have to move Jimmy wide when required? A lot might be relying on Adamson staying focused & fit.

Whatever, the solution, I trust these players to deliver for us. There's not been many seasons in our history that I could say that!

We were so dominant in the first half - tactically spot on, playing with focused intensity and confidence (Charles' toying with them epitomised it) - that it didn't look like men against boys to me, the gulf in class was so wide it was like modern humans v Neanderthals*.

*Apologies to any Neanderthals reading this and I accept all us Europeans have approx 2% Neanderthal genes.
