I’m sure we’ve all done a few. This morning I’m walking around Brookside, Liverpool, site of the Scouser series. The pics I take will have Mrs Boston thinking I’m a nice bloke, myself, the words ‘video nasty’ comes to mind.

I had forgotten about Sinbad.
Thank you for reminding me !!!
Sinbad turned up in Coronation Street a few years later. Had considerable difficulty suspending my disbelief after that.
Talking of which, has anyone done the Corrie tour?
Edit: Just looked at the ‘patio’ video again (I have a fascinating life) and I don’t think any of the characters are actually Sinbad. Looks like Jimmy Corkhill and Eddie Banks to me (didn’t recognise the lady).
Sinbad comments still stand though (might make us think twice about ‘digging down’ too).

Although I’ve done some touristy stuff when abroad the most annoying thing I’ve witnessed was in Northern Ireland. Myself and my mate booked ourself onto a coach trip for the day, stopped off at CarrickFergus castle, The giants causeway and Bushmills distillery, on the way it stopped for lunch at a pub that the front door appeared in Game of Thrones, had to literally shove past all the yanks on the trip wanting a selfie by the door with no intention of going in and getting a Guinness.

It's a pub doorway. There's nothing special about it, it's not materially different from any other pub doorway, it just appeared in a work of fictional entertainment.
We're supposed to be an intelligent species? No. Stuff like this makes you realise humanity is doomed by stupidity.

I went to Paris in 1998 for a World Cup game and made a special detour to take a picture of the Di & Dodi tunnel. No idea why, our generation’s Deely Plaza perhaps.
Was in Paris for the infamous Terry Henry basketball game vs Ireland and happened across the tunnel by mistake. Strangest thing reading through the gushing tributes scrawled on the overpass was finding one for Michael Jackson. It was a not at all terrible likeness of him holding a star, proclaiming him the King of Hearts. Very random.
Spent what seemed like like an eternity persuading three mates (plus one with camera) to walk across the Abbey Road crossing. Not only were all the pictures garbage, but I managed to tread on something sharp in my bare feet and cut myself, and I almost got hit by a bus. Its at times like these that one realises the absurdity of human life ... or something ...

Barefoot? So you were ‘Paul’ then! I used to get asked a lot by tourists to go to the Abbey Road zebra crossing.
The other two popular destinations were Carnaby Street (a huge disappointment) and the King’s Road (‘we want to see some punks’).
Was always happy to oblige but couldn’t help thinking, ‘You’re fifty years too late’.

When I was very young, 10 or 11, I think, my family went on a trip to see Canterbury, the place where my dad was born, and his relatives there.
We went to the cathedral and I was most impressed. I found the story of Thomas A Beckett fascinating.
I was so captivated by that enormous edifice that I snapped off a small piece of the crumbling masonry to take home with me. Shameful
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

I often take an R's shirt with me in my bag when I visit famous sites. Just so I can grab a photo of it in the hoops, but not have to wear it all day (not the most comfortable I find!). Some obvious funny looks as I changed into my shirt for a photo at Machu Picchu
Was on a school trip to Venice, some American tourists ask us directions to Piazza San Marco which we give them and off they go.
About an hour later I say to my mate "you've got to be pretty dumb to be in Venice and not know where Piazza San Marco is". The people walking in front of us say "Thanks guys!", it's the same American tourists

When I lived in London delivering for Sainsbury’s the Abbey Road studios was one of my customers, I used to approach the crossing and stop to let the tourists cross, of course they didn’t want my van in the photo so would wave me through, the look of hate on some of their faces when we soon as i cleared the zig zags I’d stop to make my delivery.
Was in France many years ago, when you still had to ask directions to find a place. So my wife approached this coach driver that had ‘Liverpool Express’ emblazoned on the side and goes ‘parlez vous anglais’?

Abbey Rd was on my bike commute for a while and invariably there were tourists - usually Japanese for some reason - at the crossing.
Very often they were at the wrong crossing, so occasionally I'd take great delight in bellowing 'wrong one!' as I whizzed by.
Apparently the location of Walt's house in Breaking Bad in Albuquerque attracts a lot of tourists. This is a great Trip Advisor review:
"Extremely bad experience! Went with my family to see the house. Made sure we stay far from house, didn't make any noise, nothing, just wanted to relish the series’ Breaking Bad’s spot. A woman comes out shouting to F off and to get away from the house and said she has informed the cops and shared our license plate! NEVER EVER would recommend this place! The house states that ‘You can take photographs but dont disturb us’. Dont take your small kids atleast - you dont want them to hear such curse..."
Twáts. I'd have told you to f off too. There are literally thousands of incredible things in the world to see, and you chose a bang ordinary house because it was on the telly. You shouldn't be allowed to travel.

My brother-in-law lives in West Byfleet and when we go visit I take the kids on a little side mission to Horsell Common and visit the Sand Pit when HG Wells envisiaged the Martians landing. Was there on Sunday as it happens. Bloody dog walkers at every turn. The kids are yet to find any remnants of machines just yet.

My mate lives round the corner from Horsell common. Definitely thought it was cool when I walked past it for the first time, especially as he had never mentioned it. Guess you wouldn't when you walk past it every day.

Good work, TFL (and I don’t get to say that often).

I was in Pisa with one of my best mates.
The sheer number of photos she had me take of her and the tower was unreal.
Admittedly I am a pretty shabby photographer but jeez we all know the thing leans.
There's some lovely and well-photographed diving rocks at Hampi in India. Loads of people get great pics of themselves running, jumping and turning middair and giving a cool thumbs up in their photos. I ran up, slipped and the photo of me falling backwards with a look of terror on my face could probably pass as one of those "photos taken just before someone died" macabre things you see online.
When I was in Pisa, I bought a framed photo of the tower for my mate who has OCD. It drove him mad trying to hang it.
