Long time inside for him.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

The power of being drunk on fame seems to make some individuals act in a way that they would never have if they were just a nobody in the street.

Some become deluded by it, the guy had women throwing themselves at him, and there was no way that he even needed to act in the way he did.

When celebrities get to a stage of having a "don't you know who I am" and law unto themselves mindset, that is when I guess they have well and truly lost all touch with reality.

Fame was the worst possible thing to ever have happened to Russell Brand.

Another one tolerated by television, radio and newspaper executives when people were referring to him as a sex offender.

I'm sure Georgina Baille is celebrating.

There might be another celebrity in the news soon, if the Court of Justice allow him to be named. They all seem to be from the BBC.

I remember when he first came on the scene . He just reminded me of the cult murdering Charles Manson. His wild long hair, wide eyes. Never judge a book by it's cover etc but there was something about him I didn't like. As well as his lack of talent. Hated his Radio show and everything else he ever did. To me he was not funny. Jonathan Ross made a right arse of himself when he joined in with his pathetic phone call to Andrew Sachs.
The BBC still need to look at themselves with amount of dodgy people they've promoted over the years.

A proper talent was Andrew Sachs and gentleman. Didn't deserve the vile salacious nonsense from Brand and Ross. I used to quite like Jonathan Ross's Radio 2 show but lost respect for him after that.

15 years of avoiding Mr Big in the showers demonstrating what's good for the Goose is good for the Gander. On a serious note these so called stars who become megalomaniacs need a bit of reality that they can't have carte blanche to do what they please.

Can't stand Ross either, never liked Brand the way him and that goon Norton were both glamorising drugs when I heard them together on tele years ago told me all I needed to know about both of the tw@ts.

There’s an episode of Ricky Gervais’ show on XFM with Steve merchant and Karl Pilkington from years ago that is still online, Jonathan Ross walked into the studio while they were all live on radio completely unannounced with his penis out. You can hear Karl’s clear discomfort with it all. Apparently both Ross and Brand used to do it a lot.

Edit: here it is if anyone wants further evidence. December 2001.

I will say this to give things some balance....and in no way am I denying any wrongdoing or defending the indefensible or questioning the Jury based on what they had in front of them..

I worked in - what was and probably still is a very closed shop of the TV Industry for 30 years.....

I was present at two of Brand's jobs for a number of those years and regularly brushed shoulders with him and his prod staff....

There always existed an industry blacklist of wrong'uns - Word spread quickly - Saville, Rolf, Hall, were well known and required "policing" ....and a fair few others I could mention but won't for libel laws and the integrity of this site.

R Brand? A druggie booze-hound and serial shagger yes....but no whiff of scandal which is very unusual in such a closed shop as word gets around quite quickly about a ropey individual in an production environment that is staffed by largely young female interns.

Yes, he was described as a bit of an ego-knob for sure and got himself in bother for the Bin Laden thing and the Andrew Sachs thing and rightly so.

What bothers me is that since he started going aggressively online after the political Globalist establishment on both sides of the pond in recent years in podcasts and YouTube his past has attracted a lot of negative attention...and these accusations have arisen.

Bad paid actors or genuine cases...?

Russell Brand might well be a sexually abusive bastard and we all didn't see it happening in plain sight. in which case I hope he rots in jail ...

However, my gut feeling is there could well be something else and sinister at play here and his written memoirs have hoisted him by his own petard engineered by people that want to shut him down.

This is just an opinion. Not fact. For now we have to wait until the sentence is given and the closing statements. I would imagine he'll appeal straight away.

Interesting post Dem and I wouldn’t / couldn’t argue with it.

Like you, I’m not trying to exonerate him in any way. Hell, even if he didn’t do any of it he deserves time for the Sachs thing alone along with that chump Ross.

Its wrong that people like those two have done so well in their lives earning fortunes etc and behave like this.

Brand is worse I know, but Ross is a vicious nasty piece of work for doing what he did. No wonder I've never liked the tw@t, I always thought there must be a reason and something about him and he hasn't let me down.
