I have supported the club for just under 20 years now and for the first time in my memory, I reluctantly admit to losing interest. There are fortunately or unfortunately things I would rather be doing to enjoy my weekends that cost a lot less money and stress  .
Even through the prem years and Ainsworth football (the worst ive seen), I still had the drive to be frustrated with the team and had optimism that it would be better soon. Cold Tuesday nights at the Loft or long away days weren't a hindrance, it was all part of supporting QPR.
However, it just seems like failure after failure after failure and we never seem to learn. Andy Belk's continued employment despite seemingly not being very good is evidence of this alone.
I dont know what the answer is, it feels like we have gone down every route possible. But we just want a bit of Warnock and Adel to cheer us all up haha. Hats off to those who have done it for 40+ years, its truly admirable. |  |

These posts are very common when we are going through a bad patch, over the years I’ve seen several here! You’ll never let go of QPR ever!
I pick and choose games now, QPR isn’t my life like it used to be when I had season tickets. Nothing wrong with that.

My response to all these very understandable contributions is: we go again and again and again. It's in our blood, for many of us in our family story and you can't just shrug off your family. I will be there if we are playing on Paddington Rec, still shredding my nerves and just occasionally making my heart soar. I don't enjoy losing, but I would hate not being part of this club. My dad told me when he first took me 60 years ago that this was a life sentence. You can't leave jail just because you're not enjoying it. |  | | |

This club has a bipolar tendency like no other club that I'm aware of to oscillate wildly between triumph and complete disaster, and never quite reach either end of the scale.
It may like pretty bleak now, but this is usually the time when an unlikely club hero steps forward, or we get some kind of completely unexpected lucky break. | | | |

We have been so far left behind the likes of Palace, Fulham, Bournemouth, Brentford it’s frightening
Brighton were playing in athletics stadium FFS and look at them compared to us now
It’s heartbreaking to think we used to smash Spurs, Chelsea, West Ham every other season
Loftus road used to be a fortress now it’s a cliche for commentators to spill out the tight nit atmosphere line

It's gotten so bad that other supporters either laugh at us or even worse, just don't care about us.
40 years I've supported this club, I sold programs in The Loft in the early 90s, Season ticket since 87 with my Dad.
I got to the point against Boro' that I was just laughing at the team, it was so so bad. I've never done that before.

Embarrassing performances week after week. A midfield that doesn’t put tackles in and a striker that is so far out of his depth it’s untrue.
With the exception of a key few players, Cook, Dunne, Nardi, this lot are the lame ducks, the likes of which I have never seen at Rangers.

I know it’s bad at the moment, but for me the time I felt most despondent about Rangers was during our last few stints in the PL. It felt like we were play acting at being a Premier League team. I found everything about it thoroughly depressing. That disgusting badge really sums up that period - NW’s league winning season aside - it’s a time I’d happily forget.
As crazy as it sounds I still really enjoy going to Rangers, it’s not about the winning, although it is great when we do, but it seems to be a bit more of a complex emotional attachment. It’s tied in with our sense of identity, family, childhood memories, a sense of place. If it’s all about the winning then you must be clinically insane to support QPR.
I’m not giving up my season ticket just yet. Even if we go down this season, I’ll still be there. [Post edited 10 Nov 13:22]

I do feel a little resigned to relegation this year and it is purely down to there just not being any goals in the team, and for a lot of the season it has been pretty difficult to work out what our plan is to try and score the two we tend to need to win a game.
If we are to go down, I do hope they get rid of Nourry and Belk as they are surely hugely culpable for where we find ourselves - but they won't get rid of me. Been going QPR since I was 6 and it has rarely been because we're brilliant or doing well. Just a part of who I am, and lots of friendships that are based around the club like so many others.
We are of course only 5 points adrift, and there are 31 games to go but I do struggle to see how we are going to score the goals to survive and negate our seemingly unerring knack to clear the ball straight to the opposition and concede a la Cook yesterday and so many others this season. Holy Junior has been done for the best part of 2 seasons now… I’m not going to attend on my own and my son has told me he would rather do other things than watch QPR… we have taken up golf and I’m hoping to be his doubles partner at paddle. In response to the OP. I know what you mean. I've been following Rangers since 73 with my first live match in 79 and having travelled thousands of miles and shelling out thousands of pounds down the years, I haven't been to a game since Preston away just before the lock down. During that time I can't say that I missed it that much and that's one of their reasons that I haven't been back (there are others). I'd love to see QPR doing well and still watch on the telly. But at the end of the day, win, lose or draw, my life doesn't alter one bit so now I find other things to do with my Saturdays. |  | | |

QPR is in the blood. I was brought up in Shep bush and remember as a kid seeing the lights from a flat in Benbow rd and wanting to be there. First game in the late 70"s as an eight year old. Exhilarating as a kid heading to the game. The grown ups, the noise, the passion. No feeling like a goal celebrated with believers like yourself. It is in the blood. I actually find myself more drawn to the club when it is struggling. Have attended many, many games but only had a season ticket when we were in league 1. In the last few years I have watched hmy local non league club (Hampton and Richmond) and tried to convince myself that they were my team. No chance. It is in the blood. My son, who is sixteen and sat on his grandfather's shoulders during the play off final is also infected. His choice was to go to Leeds away for his 16th birthday. He knows we are currently shit and does not care. It is in the blood. I would not criticise anybody who has had enough but I would say you ain't going anywhere. It is in the blood. | | | |

8 years ago work took me north. I still go to 90% matches.
I’m a bit done with the football but then you walk back to station from Elland Rd with friend I’ve known most of my life but not had a long conversation in years.
Covered everything from how we’re doing, to friends passing and onto how great it is to see the next generation. That’s priceless and I wouldn’t have it without the love of QPR. | | | |

I do get the sentiment and have felt pretty down and for want of a better phrase done with it all the last few weeks but last season showed that this is far from over. The division is crap and even with all the problems we have we are capable of getting out of this again. Whether we will or not I'm not sure but a lot of football still to be played and so much can happen

I think the current negative feelings are exacerbated by what might have been under Fernandes tenure with Mittal’s money. The fact that he so gloriously messed it up and that perhaps we can’t completely move on as his mate Ruben is now running the show.
Like many things in life football success is cyclical and one day it will be our turn once again.
Should the worst happen and we drop down to League 1 well I have to say that my happiest times of being a fifty plus year QPR fan were in League 1 with Ollie. |  | | |

I didn't even bother checking the score today.
Heard we lost 2-0 shrugged it off, the scorelines dont even effect me anymore. i used to get all worked up about the results and performances but I don't see the point anymore and I don't feel any urge to head to loftus road anytime soon.
Though one thing that hasn't changed is that after a few pints I'll still randomly shout urssssss 😂 [Post edited 10 Nov 12:59]

Starting taking my son after Covid. He is now an Arsenal fan and to be honest I don't blame him. He has started supporting QPR over the worst 4 year period in my nearly 40 years supporting them. It's utterly joyless going to QPR at the moment and has been for 3 years straight. My other son comes with me to games but also tells his mates he is an Arsenal fan.
A completely stagnant club under awful ownership. Our time will came again, but not whilst this lot own the club. They have no idea what they are doing or how to run a club. They've been there nearly 15 years as well |  |
