Absolutely not, when they came to the club we were in the premier league.

Doesn’t matter what happened then with who was spending what.

Stronger position 😂

Sounds like yet more complete and utter bullshyte from Levein

But it depends on how he is defining “ stronger “?

We were a relatively established Premier League club of five seasons at the time of their purchase and we are now 14th in the league below that. How does that make it a stronger position? Unless he is intimating that there’s a stronger financial footing now with less debt. Certainly the player wage bill now seems manageable but that’s not what he said.

To think that Jenkins agreed to sell to that lot whilst keeping the Trust out of the equation until the last moment ….

Next level?

I agree with Jason, it was bad for us when he took over and better for us when he left.

There are quite a few mistakes in this article. Factual errors.

He needs to be reminded where the club was in Spring 2016.

It may have been best if he didn't say anything at all.

Levien had very kind words for the club and city. He was not a very successful owner I'm terms of maintaining PL status. It is not easy actually.

Welsh investment directly into the club £1m US investment £50m plus. The idea that Swansea could stay in the PL with the turnover of manager is for the fairies .

The club lost momentum and it is very difficult to get it back.

Football fans had their own ownership group and even according to them it is pretty useless. It is useless because it needs strong independent leadership which did NOT listen the fans. The fans are not competent enough to be in boardroom.

They won the £22m lottery and did not even try to find the ticket.

it may have been a bit easier if he hadn't appointed Bob Bradley.

But we are stronger purely because he's gone. He was taking us in only one direction but now he's gone people feel more confident.

Sacking Guidolin was more influential. He was calm and experienced and ideal for Swansea subject to being fully healthy. Roo good to be sacked and too old to be poached. It was him who pushed for Llorente. He knew how to work upwards and influence the Boardroom. The Clement transfer fiasco would not have happened with him on charge. For the £16m Swansea paid for Clucas he could have attracted internationals.

There are some pretty revealing minutes, notes, emails and letters which would alarm even the most supportive of fan who is in Levien’s corner.

From day 1 it was mistake after mistake, and yes I'm sure there will be enough in print to show their stance in their dealings.

I think i have said it before but just to reiterate.

Levien lied in the fans forum when he said he was told not to talk to the trust. He knew he could get away with that as who would dispute it ?

The HOTs signed in December 2015 specifically said that ' the buyers had to engage with the Trust before the deal could go ahead ' ( or similar )
Leviens engagement was minimal and he made out that they had no intention of selling. ( obviously i have no idea exactly what was said in the meeting )

Its a case of one of 2 things
1. Gaslighting
2. feeding his own ego, to hide the fact they failed.

I was a member of the Trust back then, I'm certain enough with my memory that the Trust did contact the sellers stating they would consider selling if the terms were amenable.
Of course the buyers would only want to pay a figure for the club, if having to buy the Trust shares as well could have resulted in a lower £ per share

That's how I read it as well Clive, clearly trying to deny or at least limit the damage he's caused himself business wise, first time I saw his mug the doubts in my head were set, then Kaplan's smug words confirmed to me what these two were all about.

Can't see them forming another set of mugs for another venture, be interesting to know how much those people in their "hedge fund" lost.
