I think thatโs the big problem for Eze because by far his best position would be as a 10 behind the striker and the queue of talent there vying for a place is enormous.

Yeah, I fell asleep around the 60th minute.
Qualifiers are so boring now there are so many groups, so many qualifiers to the finals, and so many teams aiming to qualify through play offs etc and whose sole intent against the ranking team is to keep the score down.
I fully get it from their point of view, but it makes it boring for the ranking team. | |

With Europe being split into more countries and the ever-expanding number of teams in the World Cup itself it would take a mighty balls up to not qualify. One of my earliest football memories is the 0-0 in Italy with Ian Wright hitting the post.
Think we just have to let Tuchel get on with it. He has to have some experience in there even if it means picking players not in great form and if he goes entirely on form with the Forest players etc. then youโre changing the team every game. I donโt particularly rate the bloke but he canโt be judged until our quarter-final defeat to France next summer. | | | |

I suspect Harry will throw in the towel after the next World Cup so that would be a massive loss for England.
Eze is going to have to be patient because while he is an excellent playmaker Palmer while healthy will always be picked ahead of him.

And that can work if the other team are pressing high and leaving gaps so that he can play through balls over the top the way he was doing for Son at Tottenham, when Son still had a lot of pace.

With Saka and Palmer fit and Nwaneri waiting in the wings to break through, Foden would struggle to get off the bench on the right or in the 10 by the world cup! I've said it before though, you take Foden out of the uber-regimented City side and ask him to play with freedom and he struggles. He's so used to knowing exactly where everyone is and where he should be all the time. He struggles playing a different way. As much as I really hate to say it, Cole Palmer leaving them for those lot down the road was the best thing that could have happened for England. |  |

Glad you mentioned that as you said heโs had no more than 20 minutes when heโs come off the bench. If you bothered to check heโs actually had MORE than 20 minutes EVERY time heโs come off the bench. Heโs had 23, 23, 25, 45 and 45 minutes off the bench and been named man of the match in two of those games.
Heโs been excellent at Villa and is a dangerous player when motivated. Iโm glad to see him out of Man Utd and back playing for England.
