| Ipswich Reflection 17:53 - Nov 1 with 17197 views | bluenwhite10 | A fair result and list to a side with an embarrassment of talent. Ipswich going into the match are a team in a false position and it was going to click for them at some stage and unfortunately for us it was today.. Squirting hopelessly beaten on the wing for the 1st goal. In fairness we responded well attacking Ipswich right quite a bit as Chair was getting lots of success against Furlong and good following up by Butr | | | | |

Who was the clown who pushed their fella for the free kick and 2nd goal? Our left back should be learning his trade at Morecambe, never seen anything quite as brain dead as his rush out of defence to concede the third. We have some footballing morons in this side, smart teams will cream us every fckin week.

Madsen’s push. Having watched Ipswich shoving our players off the ball unpunished all of the first half he expected to get away with it.

Also makes no sense to have your smallest player in the middle of the wall. Not sure who's responsible for that? Nardi? Koki, Stephane? Edit. Watching the first one, how on earth does Nardi let that one in when he's positioned on that side of the goal? Shambles [Post edited 1 Nov 18:54]

| Ipswich Reflection on 18:47 - Nov 1 with 9690 views | dutch | Putting our Brazilian wonderkid out there today against a very good winger was a very bad mistake, gave them two goals. Our midfield got swamped and Kone is so far off his game it was like playing with ten men, then Frey replaced him and was even worse. Oh and our keeper isn't very good. Mid table seems like the height of our aspirations yet again. Why do they do this to us? | | | |

I'm afraid this is pretty much it. We beat ourselves. Esquerdinha with an A1 brain fart and lots of stupid fouls being given away. We enjoyed that free kick you scored from so much, here's another in exactly the same position. Yep, thick as mince.

I noticed it at the time and the clip confirms it Just look at the gap between our three-man wall and our other defenders and keeper. Is there any defensive scenario at all where that could be intentional?
| Ipswich Reflection on 18:54 - Nov 1 with 9604 views | Rangers67 | Very poor referee today. Plenty of shoves in the back by them in the first half nothing given. We do one and he blows up. Not the reason we lost but he was crap | | | |
| Ipswich Reflection on 18:55 - Nov 1 with 9576 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | Anyone explain this. RND can't play a three game week due to his injury record, so why drop him today? He can't play against Sheff Utd on Saturday so was only ever going to play two games maximum. Not just the players who are thick. | |

Look at the positioning of the wall for the second. Maybe it's just the camera angle but Kone is not even blocking off a path towards the goal. Lining up the wall is the keepers job so they've either moved after he's placed them or he's placed them wrong.

My take on the second is that they are thinking Ipswich won't score directly from the free kick as it is a bit far out and wide. So they put the small players in the wall and leave the tall players to defend the box. Which takes us back to the point we all make, if Saito is on the half way line it takes two of their players out. The gap between Burrell and the next QPR player is huge and likely gave Nunez the idea to have a go. The wall needed another one player at least and that would have been a tall player in the middle.

Nardi can not set up in the same position for both those free kicks especially when you consider the virtual lack of a wall for the second. He has to be at least a yard to his right. I’d say this was pretty basic stuff for a keeper.
| Ipswich Reflection on 19:06 - Nov 1 with 9418 views | Hoopstar | Sit in School End Lower and Nardi has to save that first one, shifted weight and started to step to the right and that was that. Some less than helpful fans properly barracking him second half, as did a few of oyr players in fairness. | | | |

Cook and RND were digging him out the other week against Millwall. Not a good sign but equally it's hard as a defender playing in front of a keeper you don't trust. Ipswich keeper was dodgy too but we didn't put enough pressure on him in the second half.
| Ipswich Reflection on 19:11 - Nov 1 with 9338 views | baz_qpr | Look it was fairly even in the end first half I thought we went in on the up, but really poor second half. I'm sorry but we have to be looking for a new keeper in January. I think Stephan has to be accountable, our tactics and selection lost it today ( I kind of got why with Chair cutting in we would play Esquerdinha because the kid can cross and can attack but if you are going to commit there then the rest of the team has to cover and the kid has been hung out to dry there. Ipswich are not the team to press and we overcommitted with the press for them to go long over the top where their centre forward had the beating of Morrison every time and they were 4 v 3 There was so much space. And if anyone can tell me where Hayden was supposed to be playing I would love to know because it seemed like poor Madsen was on his own in there with Haydn far to far forward and providing zero protection to the defence. Can only think this was tactical. Also starting to worry about Kone, anyone that makes Frey look quick is virtually going backwards. Dont know what is going on there but if he is not fit then we need to take him out. But a shadow of the player a month ago. We've now hit a spell where we have significant drop off in form with some players. I'm stuck in two minds about this. If you are playing 4-4-2 it's all about playing partnerships, a brand new one down the left today, one that's not played much together in the middle and it showed. However I want players to be held to account for standards, and performances like those from Morrison, Hayden, Esquerdinha and Kone should not be tolerated and should be replaced by those waiting for their chance next game [Post edited 1 Nov 19:18]

This is what I put on the match thread: Agree with this. There is no way we are going to see what we can do after conceding so early in both halves. Got back into it and only went and did it again. Hard to tell how good Ipswich were today because we got chinned twice and there was no way back. A very disappointing self inflicted defeat. Fair play to the opposition who did what they had to do in third gear. As mentioned regarding the free kicks. Nardi shifted his feet to the right for the first and couldn’t recover. Great free kick. For the second : the wall must not have Saito in it. Another great delivery, almost straight over his head baring a slight deflection that did for Nardi. Whoever set that wall up needs to have a rethink. Ipswich also did a good job on Madsen today. The opposition are working him and us out. Big week coming up. [Post edited 1 Nov 19:17]

You do get keepers who are confident enough to leave a gap like that in the second free kick, prefer to see the ball, basically a mindset of you can’t get the ball past me. Not sure Nardi is in that bracket these days.

We gave away a lot of needless freekicks today all over the park, that let them get out easily and have a break. The freekick at the start of the 2nd half was unbelievably frustrating and ciompletely needless. Their press was much better than ours second half especially. Esquerdinha thrown in for a tough game against a good winger - a real struggle for him - he's full of commitment but on that performance nowhere near ready for this level. Hopefully he has a great game next time out - he felt full of energy but actually needed to be calmer. A really deflating afternoon, nearly everyone off theior game, players, manager and team. Hopefully some redemption against Southamton on Wednesday, and a different starting lineup.

Kid been hung out to dry? Nah, kid was terrible, chasing shadows, pulled out of position, too slow, soo stupid, didn't read any of that, made veery mistake in the book. Is he a full back?

His social media posts would suggest he's not the sharpest tool in the box. Definitely lost his head when he dived into a tackle he was never going to win and they ran off and scored their third. Hopefully he's smart enough to learn a few lessons from today and he listens to some of the older pros at the club who can help him improve.
| Ipswich Reflection on 19:52 - Nov 1 with 8848 views | HammersmithR | Today was definitely on the manager. Am beginning to get sick and tired of 4, 5, 6 changes every game. Play your best team and take each game as it comes! The constant changing of the back 4 and the attacking players in hindering the side. Keep the shirt until you play badly and someone else has a go. The Brazilian lad was utter dreadful and absolutely powder puff. He is not ready for the Championship. Needs a loan spell to toughen up. Chair back to his greedy self at times today especially in the 2nd half when he should have passed. We play the same tactics in every game. We need a different style at home. We need to control the ball. We are so open at times and getting massively over run in midfield. So Wednesday will be another 5 changes and then the same on Saturday. This side needs to gel. Look at Arsenal. Same back 5 most weeks. Ours is a fricking lottery each game. That’s not how you build a successful side. | | | |
