Battling performance should we have finished off. Did worry when Demble came on but did they have a clear chance all game, a couple of melee in the box at both end.Away win happy. Poor quality game but we saw it out well.

There were enough good chances to put that game to bed well before the final whistle but in true fashion we had to go through the wringer!

Hopefully thst was the turning point - win away at another struggling side, clean sheet, defence not really troubled.

We are grinding out results and that is what you need to do at the bottom. Four wins in the last six games, there is little to complain about as far as I am concerned.

Apart from his shot which I think ended up closer to the corner flag than the goalš

what would you have preferred, prerty football and losing or whar we saw tonight? The football under Matos is so much better than that from Sheehan ....there was no pass and move under him...we see some now but tonoght was about getting the away win

Ronald had a better chance but fluffed his lines, it was an awkward chance though.

| Oxford United v Swansea City : Match day thread on 05:59 - Dec 30 with 658 views | jack247 | Possibly some of the comments on here a bit negative? Weāre going to have scrappy games against scrappy teams. Weāll see more like that, especially at home. Matos has already got us to the stage where weāre winning them. Next step is to get the second and third goals our dominance deserves, but heās already moved us a long way forward. Aside from that, I said crosses werenāt Vipotniks strength a few days ago, then he absolutely buried that header. Even if you take the goal out of it, I thought he had one of his best games. He did what he usually does, but he just did more of it if that makes sense. Ronald and Franco should have made it safe, but I donāt tend to criticise players for missing chances, I criticise them for not getting in positions to have chances. Still need to work on turning possession in the final third into clear chances, but overall I saw that much more positively than the general vibe on here. Work in progress, but we are progressing | | | |

I just wonder how much we have left in the tank for Thursday particularly Vipotnik. No way am I criticising Matos because last night's result was in the balance until the end. If we had got a second no doubt Wales would have come on to give him 15 minutes less but it didn't happen and we didn't have many other options up front. Incidentally the normal moaners seem very quiet.
| Oxford United v Swansea City : Match day thread on 07:32 - Dec 30 with 570 views | builthjack | 3 points, thatās the main thing. We worked hard for it. We need to be a bit more clinical I that last 25 yards though. Not just the shooting, but the decision making. We waste so so much. Upwards and onwards though. I was at the game so could see the off the ball out of cameras way stuff, and thought Vipotnic ran his socks off, doing the chasing and closing down more than anyone. Well done that man. | |
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

The Oxford commentary team mentioned how hard we worked and deserved the win. When the opposition do that it emphasises the fact. Matos is starting to get us performing as a team instead of a group of individuals, well done that man.

To put it in context,It was a great win ,especially as Portsmouth won , a great battling performance ,a typical championship scrap ,that we might have lost before Vitor came in We scored a great goal and created other chances that on another day go in You can see an upturn in tactics and performance under Vitor It was also nice ,and surprising to see a fairer ref than weāve had in a very long while COYS

One think on our favour there is that Vipi has, as far as I can remember, rarely played a full 90 this season. Usually he's been rotated out before the 70 minute mark. I think, if the training schedule isn't too heavy (and it probably isn't with games coming this thick and fast), two games in four days shouldn't be beyond him.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

He worked bloody hard last night mate, they all did. At least it's not two away games back to back.
| Oxford United v Swansea City : Match day thread on 08:43 - Dec 30 with 437 views | herbie | I had Vipi as our man of the match last night. Good headed goal, set up a good chance second half with a flick on, held the ball up well and worked really hard for the team. Excellent. 12 goals before the new year is an excellent return. | | | |

Yes, thatās a concern. I thought he had one of his best games last night but noticeably tailed off towards the end. Not a criticism, he ran himself into the ground. If Idah isnāt fit, itās a big ask to play that role for 90 minutes three times in six days. I agree, Wales would probably have come on if weād scored again
