Well, it was a win and I can't think of much more to say about it, Franco did a decent job when he came on Widdel decent. |
Battling performance should we have finished off. Did worry when Demble came on but did they have a clear chance all game, a couple of melee in the box at both end.Away win happy. Poor quality game but we saw it out well. | | | |

Weāre going to have scrappy games against scrappy teams. Weāll see more like that, especially at home. Matos has already got us to the stage where weāre winning them. Next step is to get the second and third goals our dominance deserves, but heās already moved us a long way forward.
Aside from that, I said crosses werenāt Vipotniks strength a few days ago, then he absolutely buried that header. Even if you take the goal out of it, I thought he had one of his best games. He did what he usually does, but he just did more of it if that makes sense.
Ronald and Franco should have made it safe, but I donāt tend to criticise players for missing chances, I criticise them for not getting in positions to have chances. Still need to work on turning possession in the final third into clear chances, but overall I saw that much more positively than the general vibe on here.

To put it in context,It was a great win ,especially as Portsmouth won , a great battling performance ,a typical championship scrap ,that we might have lost before Vitor came in
We scored a great goal and created other chances that on another day go in
You can see an upturn in tactics and performance under Vitor

One think on our favour there is that Vipi has, as far as I can remember, rarely played a full 90 this season. Usually he's been rotated out before the 70 minute mark.
I think, if the training schedule isn't too heavy (and it probably isn't with games coming this thick and fast), two games in four days shouldn't be beyond him. |  |

Yes, thatās a concern. I thought he had one of his best games last night but noticeably tailed off towards the end. Not a criticism, he ran himself into the ground.
If Idah isnāt fit, itās a big ask to play that role for 90 minutes three times in six days.
