Some bloke called Vitor Matos is apparently heading Swansea's list for new manager, manager of Maritimo and coached through the Liverpool and Red Bull stuff....
Now I think I am finally going all 'proper football man' about something....but what do the likes of Dave Challinor and Richie Wellens lack that these guys have? Genuine question, there is probably a good answer which is why someone like Matos is in consideration, or that random Catalan bloke who managed 3 wins in 19 games at Stoke last season.

Richie Wellens deserves a chance, but the Chairman/CEO/DOF who appoints him needs closed ears and a thick skin.

Swansea should tread carefully here. They were fcking awful against us, half empty stadium. That Cardiff, Derby, Reading stench of death around the place. Could easily go if they get this wrong. Next summer is the time for your whacky left field appointment, not now.

Do you reckon they could put some giant cloth flat caps on the top of those?
Where are the 62,000 Birmingham fans coming from . Tourists ?? They’ll end up as a premier leauge club with another huge stadium . All fighting for 4 championships leauge spots. UEFA should just be done with it and give all 20 a spot.

Stadium brief: Birmingham City Football Club is looking to construct a 62,000 capacity stadium at the heart of Birmingham's new leisure/entertainment district. The new stadium should feature no less than sixteen giant chimney stacks, which will house searchlights and firework launch pads. The stadium will host light shows as well as football matches.
Fulham FC: It's the taking part that counts

Phalluses aside, bowl stadiums are shit, especially the single tiered ones IMO.
This smacks of the thing we did with Old Oak Common. I don't think we'll ever see it.

We never had the land for Old Oak Common.
We were getting waaay ahead of ourselves.
Birmingham / Knighthead have the land. They also have the support of the council and the government.
It will happen.
Maybe not with the dildoes. Especially not once they realise the connection to the Two Davids.
Wagner and Brady won't want to become the Dildo Brothers Mk II.
This project is about more than just a new stadium. It looks like they are trying to recreate what Man City did in Manchester with a new training ground and significant investment in the wider area. It's also going to be handy for HS2, if it ever gets there:
Having lived there, Birmingham fans are insufferable with delusions of grandeur when they’re a middling second division team. Glad I’m no longer there, for a variety of reasons, if/when they achieve something.

If those owners deliver what they say they're going to, fair play. Ours talked the talk, and walked us back to 16th in the Championship in the same stadium - albeit they've sorted the training ground.

It's not just about these owners and their ambitions.
The Midlands will be a key battleground for Labour at the next election.
Delivering HS2 and kickstarting the wider regeneration of East Birmingham with major redevelopment of Digbeth and Small Heath is vital for Labour.
Labour are pouring money into Birmingham.
They have even agreed to fund a new tunnel linking Small Heath to the HS2 terminal at Curzon Street for a new tramway to enable fans to travel to the new ground on match days (and to be fair Knighthead are stumping up a big chunk of the cash for this also).
Our owners never had that sort of backing for Old Oak. And they were never going to get it.

And yet for all that they still seem to have issues with the bins.

What's the Liberty Stadium like? I've only been to their old one.
It looks like one of the worst newish ones on the TV. Quite grotty and worse than Hull or Reading's.

Birmingham City are saying that you'll be able to see this new ground from the Cotswolds. But as Alan Partridge says, they haven't explained why you'd want to.

Those giant dildoes in the distance are going to seriously mess with the heads of all those coked up media execs trying to enjoy their weekend Cotswold cottages.
They'll either clean up their act, spend their weekends in East Anglia in future, or they'll be blowing all their money on therapy.
Clarkson, Cameron, Rebekah Brooks, etc won't know where to look.
Bloody hilarious.
Let's see them try to NIMBY their way out of that one
