Carrick a "good fit" but Coops "just gets it, doesn't he?" so a close call.

| Rest of the Championship thread 25/26 on 19:21 - Nov 2 with 2418 views | BAWHoops | It's all just Championship slop at this point. I'm not sure any manager in this league is actually any good. Liam Manning was a good manager doing good things, now he is not. Marti did a good job at QPR, now he's a bit shit. Chris Wilder had Sheff U moments from the Prem, now he's a bit rubbish. Does any of it actually matter? Is Frank Lampard really a good manager or do Cov just have a group of players maturing at the right time? We are all a bit unhappy with JS post Ipswich, lets be honest does any manager in the division make any difference? Does Ryan Mason turn us into a slick passing xG machine? Doubt it. Nathan Jones is probably the best manager in the league, but he's deeply flawed. Mousinho, Eustace, Rowett... all just fine, Championship slop managers. Saints will be fine because they have good players and will hire a Championship Slop manager to get them up the table. Will Still will probably be a much better manager for this and end up doing a good job at Preston in a few years. It's all just slop | |

Just looked at him and he looks like the most generic German U21s coach I have ever seen. Bet he's amazing

Annoyingly I think Alex Neal is a good fit at 'Wall. His physical functional football with a bit of sh*thousery thrown in is going to make then hard to beat.

And that is what it’s really about: finding a good club/head coach fit. The same head coaches fail at some clubs and exceed at others. And sometimes they can succeed and fail at the same club at different times. It’s about finding that right fit at the right time. Think of Gerry Francis and Ian Holloway. Great fits at one point. Not great fits at others. Agree that Alex Neil is perfect for M’wall. Selles great at Reading, a disaster at Sheff Utd. Is Stephan a good fit here? I’m still hopeful. But I did think, and maintain, that Cifuentes was an excellent fit for the this club at this moment. That ship has sailed, so we should all want Stephan to be that fit. Would Bould be? I doubt it. For whatever reason, the manager at QPR needs to have charisma, be slightly arrogant, a talker. It’s just the way it is. And in spite of the size of the pitch, the best Rangers managers realise that, as fans, we like skilful, quick wingers and playing with width. No good QPR side played narrow (to my mind, anyway).

It's kind of typical but that's what happens to us. Knowing our luck they'll appoint Guardiola just before kick off. I'm surprised it didn't work out for Still. Southampton have been a bit of a basket case recently. Hopefully they're 'still' a basket case on Wednesday.

Semi-trendy German geek. It was the style at the time when Huddersfield excelled with it. It’ll probably be the start of the guy’s journey to ten European cups.
