So ten games in:

We sit 5th in the League
We've lost only one game, by 1 goal, to the team in second place.
2nd best defensive record in the League
Goals scored below average for the league.

Top half teams we have played (4 teams):

Middlesbrough (2nd)
West Ham (3rd)
West Brom (6th)
Blackburn (9th)

Bottom half teams (6 teams):

Charlton (13th)
Bolton (14th)
Portmouth (16th) - only played 9 games
Cardiff (19th)
Derby (23rd)
Preston (24th)

Players fully committed, and feels like a good connection between players and fans.
Feels like we are set-up well in every game to compete, which we have done I think.

For me, really promising signs. Maybe the biggest compliment to the team and JS, is last night, with our two main strikers out (or not starting) we win 4-1 at home, and some people are almost dissapointed with conceding, not getting an extra goal, some elements of the performance. I think this reflects the new 'standards' (should that now go in the glossary?) JS has set that I think we all now feel. We've been in every game we've played, there are no 'bonus away games'.

If we want to be critical, we've played 3 of the top 6 and not beaten any of them, and we've played more teams in the bottom half and failed to beat Preston and Bolton (though still can't believe we didn't beat Bolton and great 2nd hald v Preston).

Injuries rearing their head again but we seem to be coping is another positive. Lloyd and Adamson real surprise packages and great to see young players improving under JS as well.

Overall really pleasing start - I think we would all have taken this before the season started. Lovely to have a positive goal difference as well.

Good post. They do say 10 games is the point where the table takes some shape, so the right time to assess.

The two big positives for me are 1) we are very compact and hard to break down which means we are always in games - we finally have a real spine to the side, and 2) it feels like there is a fair bit more to come from this team.

If we had been able to bring on Burrell, Chair, Saito on 60 mins, who knows what the score could have been?

Injuries and whether we can beat teams when we dominate possession still the two big challenges.

Am not in anyway arrogant or complacent about the tough games coming up but am a bit less nervous than usual before such clashes. Could suit us.

Smyth working miracles. We now need the likes of Poku and Kolli to hit their stride.

I think Jools also has an inkling in his pastis that we're on to something here!

In interview he constantly stresses the need to exercise caution and for individual and collective work rate to be maintained from the training ground and in matches. He's telling us, 'Keep Calm and Carry On!'

We have had periods of dominance in every single game of the campaign so far and this is despite shedloads of injuries, once more.

To have been competitive in all our games, and sitting in a deserved fifth place after ten games, is a more than decent performance.

Very happy. with all that.

Oak you must have read my mind as I was thinking about having reached the 10 game mark this morning

For me the best bits are:

1) one defeat in ten - And lets be fair we could have got a draw

2) 2nd best defence in the league, and for me that is the most important part

3) Consistently maintaining a place in the play offs

But the most exciting thing for me is the squad togetherness. They really seemed downbeat when Mbengue was injured last night and JS said it had tainted the victory last night.

I am quite happy to be sailing under the radar, and JS keeping everyone level headed and not building expectations. I find this side so enjoyable to watch at the moment, so well drilled and disciplined at the moment - I really think that JS and Nourry have constructed a good squad and very solid mentality around the place at the moment and whilst I am not sure we are near ready to be promoted it would be nice to be in the mix

LB has posted on another thread that if we are in this position come January then we should be attracting some players to give us the final push on and I certainly agree with that

The injuries are very worrying, especially as you never know how well players will come back; but for me that makes the strong defensive performances, the spine and the general organisation so important - much easier to keep in touch with the right end of the table if at least we're hard to beat, much easier to slot a "reserve" player into a functioning side.

I hope I don't have to eat my words but I don't see this squad going into one of those long runs of defeats that have screwed up previous seasons.

From being around 6th favourite for relegation with the bookies at the start of the season we are now 7th favourites for promotion. If we can really get this squad fit then we should really be cooking.

Long old way to go. Next 3 games will tell you if we are good enough to mix with the bigger beasts of the league. 4 points from them and I would say we are bang in there for a Play Off challenge.

Organised, passionate and playing for each other at this point. Players trust the manager and seeing real development and belief in players to how he is working with each of them to improve them. Handling of Alfie Lloyd is good example. Peripheral player over past year or so now being given the opportunity and support to play each week. His physicality and skill levels have improved and is now a definite part of the squad. JS is developing the talent we have and squad has been added to well.

No-one looks to us as easy points, real steel and presence in the squad and no fear of the opposition. Few points short perhaps (lot of worldy saves by opposition keepers) but given erosion of key roles through injury especially up front, we are doing really well. Momentum is everything over next month.

Never knowingly understood

Very happy 10 games in, its not just the results it’s how we got them.

Playing great stuff the 4 or 5 one touch passes before Vale’s goal, some of the best ive seen, it was a bit of a scramble in the area and a great finish. The back heel from Boy for Lloyds goal, the touch from Lloyd for Kolli shot, Prince Charles all but sitting on the ball for a minute - Hysterical. Paul Smyth flying at defenders and that was just last night.

This is the best I’ve felt about Rangers since we had Adel & Co.

Looking forward to the next 3 games to benchmark us, whatever happens we are on the right trajectory - may not happen this year but if we keep this up it WILL.

I'm gonna be a real old fart but it's how I feel. We have a squad that seems completely committed to the cause. I can forgive a lot of things as long as i see that.
Come on UR'sss

It's been a good start but could/should have been better! See Bolton (H) and Charlton (A). The league is extremely tight. Overall I'm very pleased with how it's gone, the football being played and the team spirit. The togetherness particularly shone through when we had 10 men for 75 mins against Preston and away at West Ham when we had about 8 players actually moving.
The next 3 games, with the players unavailable, is a real test for the squad. I would have loved to have played these 3 with a fully fit squad and the team show us what they actually have. I can't see more than 2 or 3 points in them but any more than 4 and I will start to believe. Same squad tomorrow but let's hope we have a few more warm bodies for Swansea and Soton. Come on You R'ssssssss!

On target for 78 points, 70 will get us top eight.

They’ll be a nasty defeat somewhere, probably quite soon, it’s imperative these players set it aside when it happens.

If we keep doing the stuff we’re doing will get that 70 points, if we get a spark up front anything could happen.

The main difference for me is how well we have played generally. Still not doing it for the full 90 minutes but a real difference to last season when the standout performance was the first half of the Marti derby. Our defence has improved dramatically and is now our strong point - Charles and Ronnie our players of the season to date but the lot of them including Adamson have been excellent. Kamara is a step up in quality and Smyth is playing the best football of his career. The biggest disappointment is what's happened to Kone as we could do with him firing on all cylinders.

Definitely our best chance in more than a decade of going up. Will be interesting to see whether we get a striker on loan in the window.

This is a good thread and there's a lot said above with which I agree. The next three games will tell us a lot more about this season's QPR but I don't think we need fear any team in this league.

I'm expecting to see the return of Saito, Chair, Burrell and Lamptey from injury, plus Cirkin from suspension, over the next four or five games. We may well finally see our strongest starting 11 on the pitch next month, which should give an added boost to our performances.

Confidence is 'sky high' atm because we have played the best in the division (WHam) and made them look very average indeed for long periods of the game.

We will see when we do not play to the standard we have been and loose a couple and see how the Team & Coaches react. Personally, I think that we have players in the squad who will help us get through it, strong characters in Dunne, Madsen, Kamara, Mbengue, Smyth and maybe more.
