Much maligned when he first joined, I’m now disappointed if he’s not starting, a beast of a striker who seems to be improving all the time.

He had a good spell with us, best of luck to him.

Best of like Michael.
We'll always have Luton away living long in the memory.

Oh yes, just for 10 glorious minutes he turned into prime Alan Shearer. Extraordinary compared with what was to follow.

A bit like Devon White, doesn’t matter what it looks like, keep throwing yourself into things, you never know what might happen.

On a moment’s reflection, that reads like I didn’t appreciate his moments of finesse, eg home against Millwall.

WLS reporting it to be £500k. Means that with Obikwu we essentially get a younger, faster player on cheaper wages for net nothing.

Liked Frey and thought he was a good character. He looked like a marauding barbarian when he was really on it, Luton away being the absolute best

Really nice statement from Nourry there, over and above usual departures. Clearly been quite an important character in the background.

Yes, that statement reads like it was written by an actual person rather than some of the ChatGPT inspired stuff he normally puts out.

I wish him and his wife well, I feel a wee bit guilty about not really rating him to be honest.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Sounds like the new contract has worked out for us in the end. Good luck Michi

I always liked Frey. Pretty limited player but you could not fault him for effort and when fit, he certainly added a different option when we needed something off the bench.
Best of luck to him

Seems a decent sort, best of luck to him.

Very poor signing, though.

I tend to gravitate towards players who have quirks that make me chuckle to take away the pain of our frequent embarrassment--e.g., Michi Frey having his own name tattooed across his chest, celebrating by giving himself a unicorn horn, and sprinting like a waddling duck trapped in quicksand. Will miss him.

Yeah, thank you, Michi. Enjoyed your performances last season. Without him, we’d have been well and truly screwed last season.

Joins the pantheon of quirky but fondly remembered journeymen players from the continent who had relatively short careers at Rangers, such as Polter, Sylla, Leistner, and Wszolek.

Good luck, sir.

He was a free transfer signing and scored 8 in 29 appearances in his only full season with QPR. His 1st half of season he joined in January having not played any football since the end of the previous one. And he missed all of pre season training thus time around and clearly did not look fit.

He always put in the effort and did not hide. He certainly let opposition defenders know he was playing and they wouldn't bully him.

As for his off field behaviour , it sounds like he was dedicating a lot of his free time to helping out in the community.

Also, if QPR received anything like £500k , he certainly wasn't a poor signing.

We got money for him!!!!!!??!!

Some moments of fun from Michi, mainly off the pitch. First goal was a good excuse to say ‘deft’. Wish him the best of luck.

I'm quite fond of him. He had some rollicking games for us, the unicorn celebration and as stated a good man off the pitch. Best of British luck, Michi mate.

Good post

Did a lot of stuff with the community and loved the trips to the hospitals to give the kids presents.
By all accounts a really nice bloke .
On the pitch a marauding (slowly) lunatic . But when on form like both Luton games last season he was a real handful .
Didn’t happen this season but without his goals last term we could well have gone down .

Good luck Michy

I liked his effort, but he had huge fitness issues and didn't score many goals. And he just wasn't a very good footballer.

Not sure he was a free signing either.

This!

If we did get £500k, that's an Ezesque deal.

That said, seeing his arms pumping faster than pistons on a steam train as his legs responded by propelling him slowly over the turf, while a Right Said Fred tune played in my head, maybe won't be missed as much.

Good luckfella.

Hopefully the club have some striker lined up to replace him with Justin with the development side. I can’t take another 3 months watching Kone on his own up top. Bloke looks unfit and exhausted. Definitely another 2-3 players are needed especially attacking ones. We need some bigger players. Saito, Chair, Poku, Smyth, Dembele are all so small and get out muscled constantly.

Think the word “If” might be doing a lot of heavy lifting in relation to this purported fee…

Direct quote from David McIntyre in today’s West London Sport article:-

“Michael Frey has returned to his native Switzerland, joining Grasshopper Zurich for £500,000”

He seems very sure of the selling fee.
