I just forwarded my e mail tickets on to my son to deal with. He understands this sort of thing .
As soon as I read my e mail stating 'download your ticket once only into your apple/Google wallet' , my eyes glazed over like Sid Vicious tapping his vein in the chelsea hotel with an 8 ball of china white.
Also looking forward to presenting my papers and credentials such as my Blood group and DNA Code to various fat necked Stratford pub doorman in order to gain access into their decaying slum and then pay £8 for a pint of remedial Lager that tastes like salty piss in an erlenmeyer flask.
Even better, having to display my PSA number to a Japanese beer dispensing robot in the ground that will only accept Bit coin , Carbon credits or krugerrands for payment
In future i'd prefer the QPR box office to make out like i'm Wyatt Earp, and issue me my fackin' tickets via a Western Union transcontinental telegram.

Is the Queens Park Rangers attitude to the FA Cup much different now than in your "halcyon" days of the 1980's?
Perhaps we didn't make as many changes playing wise, but we did manage to be eliminated four seasons running by clubs in lower divisions. Three of which were in the third round by clubs at least two divisions below us. That doesn't suggest to me that we regarded the FA Cup as a priority.
Crowds were on the low side as well, even in the season we reached the final. We achieved 12,000 for the 3rd round at home to first division Middlesbrough, 13,000 for the 5th round at home to Grimsby & only 24,000 for the 6th round with Palace which was 4,000 less than the previous year at home to Tottenham & well below capacity.
I confess to not seeing any of the Middlesbrough or Blackpool games, but it was very easy to get tickets from then on as they were not in great demand. This applied to football in general & not just to Rangers.
Not for the first time, I think your memory of that period is different from the reality! |
In case you overlooked it, we got to Wembley in 1982 (and should/would have won it, had it not been for the corrupt ref). Our journey there that year makes it pretty clear how much we wanted it, I should have thought. |  |
