2 questions

How many fit players do we have?

Do I need to bring my boots and deep heat on Wednesday ?

Madsen done now, out until end of November.
Burrell and Lamptey won't be seen this side of the internationals.
Chair not close.
Sensational, indeed.

Bloody hell.

That scuppers our chances of remaining in the upper reaches of the league table.

What a downer.

Physio’s door, didn’t work.
Lock, didn’t work.
Everyone's seen them on the table, didn’t work.
Physio’s door and REDACTION, didn’t work.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Surely now that we know how long these players are out for the club could tell us what the injuries are? Not going to damage competitive advantage.

Small problem. Not a big problem. And absolutely not that problem he had before recurring, absolutely not.

Jesus, just seen this.

Part of what makes it so frustrating is that there was broad agreement that our pre IB results were good but against teams that were beatable on paper, and that the real test would be this run of games. But now I'm just not sure how much we know about the potential in the squad because one again it's so depleted by injuries.

I suppose there's an argument that that's just football, you never have everyone fit, and if injuries affect your squad so much it's because it lacks depth... Other teams have problems too etc... But even allowing for the players we signed with obvious injury records, we seem to be losing key players at an alarming rate. We're a Edwards injury away from full farce again.

The number of recurring injuries at this club in the last 2-3 years is staggering. If I didn’t know better, I’d say our Head of Sporting Operations doesn’t have a clue what he is doing, and that football is a very different sport to cycling…

This is bad news. If he's back after the international break, he misses four games. Presumably it's an opportunity for Varane who must be keen to prove himself or Alamayehu might get some minutes. Real test of character coming up after Mbengue's injury and now this. Let's see how they respond. The players who are fit and healthy will need the crowd behind them more than ever.

Possibly only missing 4 matches between now and the 21/11. Then there is a 3 game week!

Trying to be positive but more players out is hard to hear, again.

So we are down to one right back, two strikers, one of which couldnt get a start in the DS 2 weeks ago, two centre mids and two wingers? Realistic first team squad players?

Any freebies out there worth bringing in?

Smells like a trout farm in here

One day I think football will realise that effectively banning the slide tackle has led to so many knee and muscle injuries.

Madsen got caught late in a standing tackle v Derby, Mbengue similar a few weeks earlier when approaching tackle from behind, was jumping about holding his knee after and the way his leg went I was amazed he managed to carry on then. Slide tackles, neither of these would have occurred.

Are there any physios/doctors in football actually looking at this?

If it's four home games, three of them are at home. That definitely helps. We can still put out a decent side just about
Charles
Kemper JCS Dunne Adamson
Edwards Varane
Smyth Kamran Poku
Kone/Kolli

That should still be a competitive side capable of picking up some points in the next four games. Defensive unit is largely intact and our success this season has been built on a solid back line.

I wonder if Cirkin can play down the wing?

Dunne also injured now, doubtful for Saturday along with Lloyd and Saito.

I would say we're going into a points slump now, but actually we're already in it - 7 points from 6 games is just about staying up form.

We're going to be 15th or 16th in two games.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

That’s a worry Saturday tough game even before the injuries would be good to see some of the longer terms coming back I.e chair Burrell asap. I suppose could be worse we could be down the other end of the table.

I think the frustrating thing is that this season we DO have a relatively deep squad. There's not a position in the team that there aren't two starters for, and even behind the two experienced players competing to start, we have cover. We've struggled at full back for ages - this sesason at right back you theoretically have Lamptey, Mbengue, Adamson, and at left back Cirkin, Kemper, Adamson again, Esquerdinha, Lamptey has played more games for us there than in his actual position. That's a million miles away from where we were a couple of seasons ago where if your first-choice didn't play the quality drop-off was dramatic. And yet we're still in a position where we're down to Kealey Adamson starting every week on one side of defence or the other - and he's acquitted himself very well this season, but he's your third-choice right back and he's currently 5th for apperances in 2026/27.

It's also that we went through the first few games of the season with much being made of players' minutes being managed, planned quadruple subs, your best midfield pairing not playing together because one could only do 60 minutes and the other could only do 30. And here we are after 12 games and we're missing both strikers (and the cover, so we've had to recall Rayan Kolli out of whatever exile he was in so that anybody can play there at all and his fitness record isn't great), both right backs, our best midfielder, arguably the outright best player at the club, apparently now Jimmy Dunne of all people struggling for fitness. If you have two players in every position, players who can play multiple positions to act as cover, decent youth players who can understudy for all of the above, and the squad is still visibly wearing thin because we can't stop players picking up injuries...

We’re constantly going with our hands (and seemingly knees) tied behind our backs.

I still think the scheduling is crazy but FFS we just can’t carry on with all these injuries. It’s killing us. Something has to change.

I missed the bit about Dunne. If he's out on Saturday then our prospects don't look so good. Maybe Kemper can play left CB with Cirkin at LB which would mean we can keep Edwards in midfield. So many changes to a back four is unsettling though.

These injuries have killed the season. However, it does highlight how badly we need a big sale ASAP so we can increase the depth of the squad.

The harsh truth is that Morrison, Kolli, Lloyd are not good enough and we are very thin in the CM area. Also concerning is that Charles and Kamara are loans and the squad looks very thin again.

I've got a horrible feeling JS will walk at the end of season as he's doing his job with both hands tied behind his back.

Exactly this, desperately trying to remain positive and I'm of a stoic disposition generally but good grief this is farcical. It's all well and good saying this, that or the other player will be back by X time but as we've seen with Madsen and Chair (to use two examples of many), players need time to bed back in, get up to speed etc etc, just kills any momentum they and the team were building.

Also, from a selfish point of view this Saturday is my first game at LR of the season and my daughter is flying over from France for the match. Such a shame we won't get to see the team who has the best chance of getting something from the game. Bollox.

ours weakest area is the back room , physios dept isnt fit for purpose and hasnt been for what three seasos now yet all seem to keep there jobs or in some case get promotions , multi million pound buiness reliant on people who lets be honest arent fit for purpose , heard we have gone through 4 people in the recent 12 months running the IT side of the company due wages being rubish also,
you get what you pay for in life pay ribbish get rubbish

somebody did pre international break when they said they would be back after which break did he mean ?

JS prob will walk same as our previous coach made comments about the poor state of the squad injury wise.

The whole thing is weird. Nourry doesn't strike me as a soft touch so doubling down on Dr Ben is odd as it obviously affects how the Nourry project goes.

With Madsen out for a few weeks now is the time to give young Isak Alemayehu a go in central midfield. He looked pretty good in some of the pre-season games and been suprised he has not been brought off the bench yet.
