Saito clearly not fully fit. Dembele off injured again at the weekend. Only Chair being talked about as nearing a return.
We only have about 13 fit first team players and one of them is about to leave. Feels like it's asking for trouble. |  | | |

Makes no sesne atall , if we was lower down the league then maybe and its a big maybe , but four points from the top six , and not that much in the way of cover.

Field is used to playing most games so I’m sure he wants to leave as he’s behind Madsen, Hayden and Varane at the moment.
Would look to sell for a decent sum now considering he’s under contract but a loan with an obligation to buy would be ok.
Just a loan serves no benefit apart from saving on wages but if he’s not going to play hardly any minutes then that’s better than nothing though it could strengthen a possible playoff rival. |  | | |

Perhaps, if Field does go, we are looking to.promote Alameyhu, keep Morgan. Or even, look to get Alfie Tuck fully fit and competing for a place.
Another alternative would be Edwards into midfield.
None of those options would be.my 1st choice but I believe all could be feasible. |  |

Totally absurd.
So this is the same Sam Field deemed by some as not being good enough when in possession, yet clearly viewed as being good enough by a fast-improving, possession based team in Norwich and very good coach: P Clement.
Wrong at all levels. In terms of consistency in performance, he's way better than Varane for mine. [Post edited 2 Feb 14:09]

Maybe there's a replacement lined up if Field goes to Norwich. I don't really want Sam to leave, but he doesn't really play that much anymore and if Norwich are giving us a chunky loan fee with some sort of agreement that it goes permanent if he plays x amount of games for 4 or 5 mil then its probably good business and allows to sign a replacement in the summer. Definitely sad to see him leave though I think he's been a brilliant player for us. | | | |

He's certainly had two clubs this season, but he didn't play for WW before joining us (according to wiki). I don't know if that makes any difference.
Ipswich do rack & stack, but I can't really see any possibility of him going there. |

Sam Field is off. Norwich in advanced talks according to Sky.
Think this is daft.
Am guessing their is an obligation to buy if he gets a certain number of appearances. Good signing for Norwich.

I don’t think it’s a case of not liking him. He’s played at least a part in 19 games but we know he has limitations and it’s probably more a case he wants to go somewhere he’ll start more and/or secure his longer term future.
Norwich would surprise me as he’d probably be going into a similar situation in terms of the playing time. | | | |

He was being offered to other Championship clubs last summer. Club decision, and no doubt he wants to play somewhere more often too. If you wish to sign Ronnie Edwards for £4.5 million in a January window, then some other players must be sold. And to sell players, even your favourite players, there must be offers.
The one thing the club definitely is getting right in the last two windows in my opinion is recruitment, so gonna let them have this. [Post edited 2 Feb 14:14]

Absolutely he's a better player than Varane but our Director of Football apparently knows best, Field is incredibly versatile which makes him a great squad player, we should be selling Varane, but then probably after all the Click bait it's a case of nobody wants Varane.
Oh just thought a smart move by Norwich Kenny Mclean is now 34 so he's probably getting to the end of his Championship career.
If we really have to sell/offload how about getting rid of the too many No10s, its just a case of somebody actually wants Field, maybe that tells you something. [Post edited 2 Feb 14:42]

I’m not averse to Field going, but going into a huge chunk of the season with Madsen, Varane, Morgan and Hayden in the middle is worrying. Varane is still injured. Morgan has not been great when he has played in the middle. It leaves us very open in that area of the pitch. If the club have someone lined up who is better than Field then fair enough. Isak and Edwards would be stop gaps and could do a job in the area of the pitch. Field can always cover at left back and at centre back especially has JCS is permanently injured. | | | |

I’ve always admired Sam Field’s professionalism. He’s a very good all-rounder and suited to the Championship. Rarely injured, great workrate and can play a number of positions.
He will definitely help Norwich given their current position. Who’d of thought Madsen would become the pivotal player in our team and essentially consign Field to the subs bench?

if you held a poll on btween field and varanne who to let go majority woud say varanne .
field can cover a variety of postions well , varanne can play in one postion on this seasons form poorly , as clive aid smack of well u will pick the dev players to make me look good. stupid move when we re still in the mix for a top 6 spot [Post edited 2 Feb 14:41]

I know there will be anger but any thought that Field may be the one pushing for a move? He's 27 and needs regular football which he isn't getting, Norwich will be a good move for him and especially for their situation in a relegation battle. He's firmly behind Hayden and Varane in his position now, we had Isak on the bench the other day and rejected offer for Morgan so perhaps they feel that's enough - maybe naive but time will tell.
