| January transfer rumours on 12:32 - Jan 2 by Ned_Kennedys | He was decent enough last season but doesn’t look match fit this season when he’s been on the pitch. Has he started with Burrell at all as starting with Kone was never going to work for either of them. If he goes we need a decent replacement to back up Kone as Kolli is more of a Burrell stand in. |
Still maintain he is being played out of position, when on the pitch this season. He is not a ‘10’ (god know we have enough of them), but needs to be at the top end of the pitch where he can bully defenders in and around the box. He was very effective at this last season when playing with poorer quality players. Also, it is very difficult to hit the ground running when you are a bit part player. We have seen this with Morgan and Field this season among others. His work rate is phenomenal and definitely the ‘right sort’ we want around the place. I for one will be sorry to see him go, but if he is not being utilised properly, then it is the right decision for both him and us. Marti might buy him on a short-term contract, if he keeps his job. Half a mill would buy him I’m sure.

| January transfer rumours on 15:33 - Dec 31 by 1JD | Well, we spent around 10m this summer, so your maths doesn’t appear to stack up using some quick figures. Outgoings: Saito 3m Kone 3m Dembele 2m Poku 1m Burrell 1m Total: 10m Incomings Kelman 3m Eze fee 7m Total: 10m So, all in all, rough figures indicate ins and outs have been largely cancelled out. Edit: there is of course additional headroom on top of this 39m over 3 seasons that the owners can invest if they so wish. Which given the prior Edwards bid in the summer, appears likely. Qpr paid for Dembele last season when they made his loan move a permanent one just before he got injured. And as pointed out, transfer fees are now spread over the length of the contract to get around the 'fair play 'spending rules. If there was money available on deadline day for Edwards and Dieng then that should be the case for this window. | | | |

| January transfer rumours on 12:34 - Jan 2 by Northernr | Needed a good pre-season perhaps more than anybody else and didn't get it. If we can find a taker then they should be very grateful for that after the messy contract situation. |
I was discussing this point with fans at a recent game. We all know how pre season training and matches impact on a player's performance during the season and Frey missed all the fixtures as well as the training camp in France. We have seen his fitness and work rate suffer so far. If there is a reasonable offer for him the club should sell him. If he isn't replaced, QPR could always recall Celar, who can't be any less effective than Frey had been. He might even link up well with Burrell or Kone.

| January transfer rumours on 13:29 - Jan 2 with 2365 views | Pdog | You just know there’s a Nourry type out there in Europe crunching numbers on some soulless algorithm in the hope of saving their teams season. Frey's 9 Champ goals pop up on screen and he’s loading up the fax with a low-ball bid to buy him out of our contract, i can see it. | | | |

Isn't that how he ended up here in the first place?

If a prospective buyer is still using fax we might be able to offload him I suppose.

Not according to the accounts last time I looked. There is a difference between the announcement of the signing (loan to permanent option invoked) and the timing of the fee paid.

The fax would probably be faster over ten sheets….

Dembele was on loan for the whole of last season & transferred to Rangers in July as he had activated the clause in the loan agreement. As he managed to achieve that before his injury (September?), shows that it must have been a soft target. Possibly suggesting that we couldn't afford the fee last season.

| January transfer rumours on 14:22 - Dec 31 by QPRSam | Ah okay apologies as I missed that. There's someone on socials posting how Southampton are strongarming us for Edwards. I don't see why they would considering he's now their 5th/6th choice CB which is bizarre in itself. My gut feeling is something has to be done, I can't believe he'd be expelled from a squad based on ability |
Yes, apparently we have bid already and been told no. Southampton have a decent record of selling at good prices, and if we won't pay plenty of others would. He us desperate to leave, and we are his first choice apparently. So Frey probably going.

Think we might see a few in and out over the next couple of weeks.

We also had to pay his contract off. And, if I recall, he was able to put his severance forward to cover the comp, so net net we didn’t get any money for him.
| January transfer rumours on 21:20 - Jan 2 with 782 views | dmm | I understand there is an increase in Championship broadcasting revenue this season amounting to £3m to £4m, plus between £500k to £1.5m for live matches. There's also international television rights of another £1m to £2m. There's also a £5m solidarity payment from the Premier League as well. I don't know how much all this compares to last season payments from these sources but it does mean increased income for the club in addition to the Eze money. | | | |

That's not my understanding. I read that Cifuentes sacrificed some salary at Leicester to help cover half of QPR's compensation fee. That would suggest that our contract was still very much in force when the move to Leicester was negotiated and explains the rationale behind placing him on gardening leave.

OK I stand to be corrected. It must have been a very soft target as he only achieved 1 goal and 2 assists before it was activated.

Hes got plenty of splinters from sitting on Dusseldorfs bench all season and hardly getting of it. Dusseldorf third bottom of B2 having scored 15 goals all season and he still cant get a game

I read about him on the BBC sports article on EFL players who could be on the move. He seems to be a goal scoring midfielder and I instantly thought QPR need one of those given the lack of goals from midfield. I don't know about his other midfield qualities but if he can make tackles and forward passes he can replace Varane in midfield or play as a number 10 behind Kone or Burrell. I know Chair can play the role, but we don't know whether he is fit or not (the club doesn't like to keep fans informed, presumably because it provides an advantage to the opposition).
| January transfer rumours on 00:53 - Jan 3 with 130 views | aston_hoop | I mentioned Castledine in the summer because at that point, Chelsea were willing to let him leave on a permanent deal and he sounded exactly like the kind of player we would try to sign under the current regime. Not sure if we could still nab him permanently now, but why not I guess! | |
