| January transfer rumours on 10:21 - Dec 29 by daveB | He's not on small waghes at Soputhampton, his contract is ridiculous. He is desperate to leave but I think other clubs will come n for him, Leicester looks the most likely |
Thought LCFC were running foul of financial regs. I'm sure Cook's on a fair whack, probably JCS too, so if we can afford to bite the bullet, then I remain of the view, get him in now. Interesting post on Morrison above. Have to say of what I've seen of him, he's never struck me as a really robust CH type, either. [Post edited 29 Dec 12:11]

Rumours on social media are we're looking to offload before anyone comes in. Wages apparently. Frey, Morrison & Nardi allegedly. Smyth if he doesn't sign. The squad does look a little bloated in areas, but, and I know this has been mentioned earlier, surely we have to move up a couple from the DS to reduce the wage bill again.

Shame if we are selling Morrison, but we have a couple of promising cb´s (Smith&Akindile) so maybe we are promoting them sooner than later. And who knows what´s happening with Edwards, if we really get him that will push Morrison even more down in the pecking order

Morrison? I know he hasn't played recently but I thought he was pretty decent. Are they clearing him out to allow headroom for a devastatingly handsome, Southampton-based option? I could understand Frey but, realistically, who on earth is going to take him? He's not what you'd call prolific and he runs like a Ray Harryhausen dinosaur. Nardi, fair enough, if we have an actual replacement but if they're just going with Walsh I can't see it working out. If Smyth decides against an extension, then I'd be genuinely sad to see him go but would wish him all the best. The name I'm surprised isn't being mentioned is Field, not because I want him to go (i don't) but more because he's not getting as much game time this season and he's the kind of player that a lot of the Championship sides prioritise in the January window.

| January transfer rumours on 10:15 - Dec 29 by DavieQPR | A few people seem to have a problem working out the Edwards situation. As he has a widely reported 50% sell on clause if Saints sold him fir £3m they would only pocket £1.5m. To break even they would have to sell for £6m, |
It doesn’t work like that, P’boro would only get a % of anything over the £3m so, if they just wanted their money back, £3m covers that

For me Dorse, Michi’s best performance was in the last 15 minutes of the Seventh Voyage of Sinbad. Played to his strengths - perfect use of impact cyclops (give or take an eye)

| January transfer rumours on 09:45 - Dec 29 by WestbourneR | Mark my words, Morrison is not good enough and never will be. Far too slight. Doesn’t command and gets drawn into weak tackles high up the pitch. One massive rick per game. Decent gamble but we should move him on. I did say it last year. Seems like Julien Stephan is now on the same page. |
Disagree with this hugely but do understand your view. For me Morrison will be a great player but his career will depend who he is partnered with. At the moment he would be great alongside Dunne or Cook. Still learning the English game. He’s one I’d be loaning as has a future

| January transfer rumours on 14:15 - Dec 28 by kensalriser | No one cares he's an England U21 international. He didn't get a single minute on the pitch in last year's tournament. He'll be 23 in March and can't get into a mid-table Championship side. They'll accept whatever they can get if he's not in their plans. If you think there'll be a bidding war for him, fine, we can agree to differ on that. |
You think Southampton will pretty much give Edwards away for nothing and no other clubs will be interested? Yeah we’ll agree to differ on that. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Well it would depend on whether it is actually a 50% sell on clause and whether that’s on the total sale amount or (much more likely) the profit.

Not 100% Saints will sell or loan out Edwards. Makes no sense, but if they were stupid enough to attempt this, do believe we are in pole position to sign. And if its £3 million as is touted, sign here Ronald... One random player likely to be on the move is Raheem Sterling. Yes he is past his best, yes it goes against everything in our model, and yes he plays in a position that we are stacked, but any purchase of Sterling at the age of 31, at £3million or under, has to be considered. Potentially two or three very decent seasons ahead. Wages though probably more the issue, I would suspect. He doesn't want to leave London so with Chelsea and Arsenal out of the equation. In order of likely destinations, would suggest 1. Spurs 2. West Ham 3. Palace 4. Brentford 5. Fulham 6. Rangers 7. Millwall 8. Charlton More than likely though BOB HOPE or NO F'ING HOPE !!! Sorry for mentioning [Post edited 29 Dec 17:06]

Think you’re right Ned. Must be a % of profit just like for Eze.
| January transfer rumours on 18:32 - Dec 29 with 313 views | bosh67 | For me Morrison is a must keep. He will come good again and he's definitely a profitable prospect if we nurture him here. He's 22!!! A kid so absolutely the type of player we build around. He's also the only person I know born on the same day as me, so for that reason, he must stay! | |

I think Morrison was developing well and doing fine: can’t remember too many people complaining about him too much. Has been unlucky to lose his place IMO and has got plenty of time on his side. Good to see him recalled tonight.

I am fairly certain that some of the Eze money could be used.

We have absolutely no idea, being honest. It's a huge worry for me. Don't trust them at all.
