| Half decent tv 06:36 - Apr 29 with 1120609 views | LadbrokeR | I watched the last episode of line of duty and thought that was good. Undercover has finally grabbed by attention. I quite like some of the investigative programmes Stacey Dooley does. However I can't wait for the next series of people just do nothing. | | | | |

I also liked Dark Winds. Like many of the better TV series, based on a pre-existing novel.

Dave, 'The Offer' is excellent craic. Thanks for recommending this (and to anyone else who might have mentioned it). Great 70's feel that reminded me of 'The Deuce'. It's played for laughs more than that programme was but it's just as enjoyable. also reminded me of 'Mad men' a bit, with all the machinations. I'm seven episodes in, and I just now I'll finish the last three tonight. Solid 8 or 9 from the Cork Jury.

Check out Mick Herron’s other work being brought to TV - Down Cemetery Road. Has to be good with Emma Thompson & Ruth Wilson (& Apple budget)

Good call, I haven't finished watching it yet but, so far, it has been excellent. I liked the fact that when they started practising together, it *didn't* all magically gel.

Finished this - really good and much enjoyed. Only reservation was the femal lead who did get a bit annoying with her walk, chin thing and "farkin mug punta" spiel A loosely true story which is fairly remarkable. Now watching Black Rabbit which I'm enjoying as well.

Enjoyed Black Rabbit. Far fetched at times of course but Jason Bateman does ‘unravelling’ plot lines very well.

The diplomat is no doubt very good but put it next to slow horses different class. The very good british shows create brilliant spaces for you to float in. The diplomat felt like a continuous bursts of machine gun fire thrown at you. It’s the spaces in the tune not the notes. Every great song.

@charmr 'The diplomat felt like a continuous bursts of machine gun fire thrown at you.' I haven't seen The Diplomat, but I believe Kermode categorised such offerings as 'running, jumping and shooting' movies. Great point. I've turned off the first episode of series two of the Diplomat twice, thinking "nah, can't keep be keeping up with that". I find I have to be in the mood for programmes or films that are so frantically paced.

Not quite telly, but I bought the Brian Pern dvd in the week. (Simon Day playing a Prog-rocker - Peter Gabriel in all but name). Of all people, Suranne Jones is just brilliant in it, as is the very under-rated Michael Kitchen as his Manager. [Post edited 8 Nov 18:45]

That's handy because C4 show it over and over again. The sign of a good movie or TV show for me, is that they don't date with age. Clothing fashion aside, Frasier is ageless. However, Daphne's oaf of a brother played by some Yank doing a 'British accent' was rubbish.

The casting of Daphne's Brothers from Manchester is a weird kink in a fine programme - an Aussie, Robbie Coltrane from Scotland and Richard E. Grant, from Swaziland and 1890's Oxbridge.
